Tiger
on the outskirts of Leningrad today. Will be the final resting place for around 18,000 german soldiers who died on the East front. A nice gesture by the Russians. -johnS
Dr. Brian
I think they did that as a duel agreement...in the tiergarten in berlin, there is a new Soviet War Memorial. Even had two T-34s displayed. ------------------ Doc God Bless Chesty Puller, Wherever He Is!
Teamski
Boy have things changed..... It's great to see two former enemies work together like that. Shows the human side. I've been to the German war graves in Normandy, and I think it's a fitting reminder just how wasteful war can be. Until you see all of those headstones like at the American cemetary there, you can't imagine just what those casualty figures mean. -Ski ------------------ "The Lieutenant brought his map out and the old woman pointed to the coastal town of Ravenoville........"
