Linux Anyone

Recommended Posts

Ok did search but did not find what I am looking for.

Is there anyone who is currently funning linux and CM and other games?

I have the option of staying with w98 going to linux or w2k. Or the other option is pull out my old hard drive and format it with one of the other operating systems.

Anyone have experience with Linux and w2k?

do both with dual boot which is avaliable with most linux versions or with partition magic.

Run Linux, install VM Ware, and put Windows 2000 on top of that if you have to run both.

You can get W2000 running at the same time as Linux (not one or the other, both).

However, you need a few hundred Mb ram for this to work properly.

VM Ware is also pretty expensive ($299 US?), if you go beyond the 30 day trial period.

But....it works and is rock solid. I've run Win2K and Win95 simultaneously.

Check out www.vmware.com if you want to give it a shot.

The idea is that VM Ware is a hardware abstraction layer (????), and you actually install other OS's on top of it.

Hope this helps a bit. Oh yeah, you *NEED* Linux/NT or Win2K for VM Ware as the host OS.
