The Artful Dodger

When a unit breaks it runs away. But where does it go? Is it a Steel Panthers run away or a more directed rout as in ASL? In ASL it was to the nearest (without getting closer to the enemy) good cover (woods/buildings). This would lead to rally points...a good thing. smile.gif

If going into close combat with AFVs using LATW you must take a morale check. What happens if you fail this check or a tank just "gets to close for comfort"? Is it the same as breaking under fire or does the bazooka team just sit and do nothing rather than firing?

How about vehicle crews? Do crews of tanks, halftracks and other vehicles bail out if they panic?

BTW I am Really looking forward to this game! smile.gif

Broken units run, generally, for the nearest cover that is (usually) also away from the big scary enemy guys. CM units don't take "morale checks" per se when attacking tanks (that implies the computer rolling 2d6) but green units are a lot less likely to come charging out into the open to toss a grenade into a hatch. LATW teams are assumed to be trained in the use of their weapons and reasonably disposed to using them, so bazookas and panzerschrecks will tend to fire unless they're directly suppressed. Vehicle crews will bail out when their vehicle is knocked out, or has a lot of damage (e.g. immobilized and main gun jammed), or if they've suffered some casualties, though usually it takes more than one (maybe from a penetration or the commander also got snipered from an open hatch).
