Bogged down and immobilized vehicles

If they're Bogged they still have a chance to get free. Once it changes to Immobilized, they're done for the scenario.

There are various theories about the best move to try and un-Bog a vehicle, none of which are confirmed. The Bogged vehicle will automatically try to free itself until it changes to Immobilized (or gets free).

I have been able to unbog regularly by pausing the vehicle for several turns,or by taking a healthy dose of Milk Of Magnesia, acoording to what variety of Bog we're speaking of biggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

One way to avoid this is by sticking to the roads.Unfortunately the AI does not abide by this and tries the short route and gets bogged.Try using the Move or Fast option in increments(waypoints),rather than one long path.It keeps the vehicle (or unit)on the right path and does not slow it down.Example: When asking squads to cross a bridge,if u use just one straight path, they sometimes run down the slope to the water and back up and finally get across, but if you tell the squad to run to the beginning of the bridge and then across to the other side (2 way points) it does it quickly.

Heavens, anyone playing against a human without using waypoints can expect to die in short order.

IIRC speed, terrain, conditions, and ground pressure ratings for the vehicle all play a role in bogs or becoming immobilized.

Additionally, I seem to remember MadMatt recently saying that regardless of player action, the unit will attempt to become un-bogged and if it doesn't work, then it will be immobilized. Anything else that seems to work is just coincidence.
