jshandorf
Opponent: Had about 3 platoons in a heavy building with a (**) designator for damage. Me: No tanks.. No artillery... No heavy HE left whatsoever. I assault the house with two squads. My men throw a grenade just as they get inside. Obviously the house takes damage. Since it is past 75% everybody in the house, his troops and mine, get up and run out of the house. Made a for a comical scene. Maybe the beta patch could be tweaked so that this doesn't happen? PeterNZer
Why tweak it? scene: corporal throws a grenade *booom* The building is supported by a framed picture of Doris Day, all that's left of one wall Sgt "GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!" Obg. "ACHTUNG! SHIESSE! RAUS RAUS!" Fleeing proceedes seems perfectly reasonable to me, tee-hee PeterNZ ------------------ "I can be quite pleasant, you know" - Andreas "WHERE'S THE MOAT?!" - Jon
jshandorf
True.. That could happen. But the reason for the building evact AI was that since large HE rounds can knock a house down quickly it is wise for your troops to bug out at 75% or above since 1 or 2 shots of HE can bring the house down. BUT grenades only damage a house in small increments and if therefore a house was at 75% and a thrown grenade takes it to 77% damaged your troops shouldn't be too concerned with the house coming down right at that moment. See the difference? Jeff
Freyland
Interesting point, Jeff, but I have recently taken out a light house with a grenade (occupied), so I have more respect for those little fraggers than before. Jonathan
