Canadian Light Infantry

How would a Canadian elite force such as the 2nd Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry be represented in TacOps? The basic organizational structure for CA regiments is presented on page 162 of the user guide, but I would think that the Patricia's would resemble a USMC Light Armored Infantry. Does anyone agree?

Thank you, smile.gif

I wouldn't call PPCLI "elite" - they are a standard line infantry regiment (though I am sure any Patricia currently serving would disagree!)

The Patricias in Afghanistan right now are augmented by armoured vehicles from an entirely different regiment (I am a bit loathe to say who from exactly; there is a war going on, and I don't recall immediately what has been made public about this deployment or not....)

Basically, I think most deployments are made up of battle groups rather than a strict adherence to the TO and E (or Establishment, as we say in Canada). In Somalia, for example, it was a similar situation in which the Airborne Regiment deployed with armoured vehicles from another regiment supporting them.

I think these infantry battalion sized deployments are generally augmented by a squadron's worth of LAVs, Cougars or similar vehicles, so I would start your recreation on that basis.
