Requesting PBEM help

Recommended Posts

Hello all. ????When i receive the opening setup/moves,etc from my opponent then do i transfer that info into my CM file??? Also, anyone who can direct to a site where I can learn what ICQ/AIM, etc. stand for and how they may be useful to me, please let me know. I am new to this and all the jargon is greek so far. But I am learning slowly by trial and error.

Hi man

Aim and ICq are both chat programs. ICq has file transfer capabilities and that is the one I recommend for this . You can get it at www. downloads.com then choose 32 bit ICQ onthe homepage( assuming u have a pc, not sure about mac stuff )

Take the attachment that you get from your opponent and unzip it into your C:\Combat Mission Beta Demo folder. (Assuming that is where you installed the program.) If you get a question from windows that asks you if you want to overwrite the file, select yes. (Unless you are wanting to save the movie files for each turn, then don't overwrite it.) (BTW, I am involved in one PBEM game with a close friend of mine and I don't save each turn's movie files. It's just a matter of preference.

Play your turn out and do exactly as the program tells you to do...find the PBEM file in your C:\Combat Mission Beta Demo folder and zip it, attach it to an email to your friend and send it.

Repeat every turn.

I hope that helps in layman's terms. smile.gif

P.S.

When you open up your game to play the turn that was sent to you...

Select play email, this will bring up a box where you'll have to point it to C:\Combat Mission Beta Demo then select the PBEM file and press open (or ok).

Hope that helps. smile.gif

it's been upgraded to just a piece of trash. Still limited in what you can do.
