Armyheer?

The german army today is the "Bundeswehr"...

Actually, the Bundeswehr (lit. "Defense of the Republic") is the entire German military. IIRC, the German Army is the Bundesheer. Luftwaffe is still the Luftwaffe, btw.

Sure,

but we did not talked about branches. Bundeswehr is all armed forces, but the branches (Luftwaffe, Heer, Marine) are still there...but what was the question? wink.gif

The Wehrmacht included all military forces of germany.

The Heer was the land forces.

Because of this, the OKW (Oberkommando der Wehrmacht) was superior to the OKH (Oberkommando des Heeres).

At least, until Hitler made himself leader of the OKH.

Things like "the question" evolve constantly.

At this moment, however,

I'd like to know if "bundeswehr" is just the modern name for "wehrmacht"?
