Czech Tanks/Barbarosa

Recommended Posts

Can anyone tell me what units/organizations (if any) contained the various Czech tanks in the German army at the outset of the 1941 Russian campaign? Were they still in use at this time or were they all being converted to Self-propelled guns at this stage?

Guest Mr. Johnson-<THC>-

pick up Jetnz Panzer Truppen. The 35 and 38 were used to fill out the panzer divisions.

8th Panzer Divison which fought in the Greece operation had over 100 pz38ts. It and the 6th Panzer (which had pz35ts) and the 7th, 12th, 19th, and 20th all transferred to the eastern front for the Barbarossa operation. Most had 38ts but the 6th still had 35s. Most of those divisions fought with the Army group middle. 6th Panzer was in the north group. As to how many were being converted to SP guns or AT guns I don't know. Obviously the germans should have upgunned more in perperation for Barbarossa
