That brings up a question about TRP's. Do you get a 'speed' bonus for firing at a TRP, as the location is already registered into the gun?

Yes, TRPs are "purchased" either by the scenario designer or when you play a Design Your Own game. They are placed just like units too, though their location can't change once the game starts.

Another thing about indirect fire... if you have an on map piece of artillery (say a mortar) you can fire indirectly if you are on the the defensive and haven't ever moved the unit after the game starts. This simulates the crew having prepared the calculations and communications necessary to fire in an indirect role. Once you move 'em they lose all there preparations and can only fire in the direct role for the rest of the game.

Target Reference Points. Basically a place where all artillery calculations have been precomputed. This allows the FO to say, "smack 'em down on Dog One" (or whatever they would say smile.gif) and the rounds will arrive fairly quickly and quite accurately. Such preparations took time and effort so they aren't always made available to you by scenario designers.
