Schutzstaffen
Computer Gaming World magazine Sept. 2000 issue, p.133 recommends the Voodoo3 3000 PCI video card for PC's without AGP slots. Costs around $120. If you have AGP, keep shopping, but this will be the best card for PCI slots.
Joe Shaw
I don't know, I've got a VooDoo 3000 AGP and it works great for fog, and rain, and snow and ... Joe
Mark IV
Yes, it works perfectly. You will probably need to download the latest driver from the 3dfx site. Painless and effective. Smoke's great, too. PS: I have the AGP. [This message has been edited by Mark IV (edited 08-04-2000).]

Smoker
There is a small, but perhaps significant, number of Voodoo3 owners that are having major problems running CM. See "Memory Leaks?" and "Voodoo3/PC Strangeness" in the Technical section of the forum. If you have an AGP slot just get a Geforce MX. I think they're less than $150 US. Twice the video ram and 32 bit color too, not to mention a little bit faster. ------------------ Smoker out.

The smoke is a little blocky but then CM isn't QUAKE III anyway [This message has been edited by markgame (edited 08-04-2000).]
TP_Bomber
It will work fine on fog. I have the Voodoo3 2000 AGP. Just make sure you have the latest drivers. I was getting blocky smoke with mine until I upgraded the drivers. Made a world of difference.
quote:
Originally posted by panzerwolfy: i want to make sure before i go ahead buy it, will the voodoo3 3000 work on fog

Freyland
Hey Bomber, since I have a 3000, and you have *only* a 2000, doesn't that mean I should be given some sort of advantage in our PBEM game? Jonathan
