EHL
Although at present there is no Windows map editor, I am wondering at what scale TacOps is coded by default? When a map editor is eventually put together, what default scale will be used? I'd like to be able to download USGS maps at whatever scale would work best (1:25,000, 1:50,000, 1:100,000, etc.) If this has already been answered by another post, what's the topic and date? Thanks
Brian Rock
The TacOps map scale is unique, with 1 pixel = 10 metres.
Hook
Unfortunately, with only two elevation levels in the terrain, the USGS map data won't be of much use. There are two things that Major H needs to do before we can use USGS map data. First, he needs to finish TacOps 98, which has more than the two elevation levels in the TacOps 3.0, and he needs to give us a map editor which will allow us to build maps in the correct format. I don't think either of these will be available any time soon. Larry Hookins
tar
Actually, if there was a description of the map format, perhaps someone other than the Major could produce maps.
