One thing as a reason for the Japanese industrial rise after WW2, I have let myself being told, was that the Japanese (there was a particular company, one of the big ones) invented a better processing method, or whatsoever, I'm not very adept with those terms. Sort of like Japanese Henry Ford, some might say.

This evolved from a clear need to have an efficient production method, because Japanese didn't have much of capacity nor raw materials to compete with Yanks.

Does anyone know more about this subject? Was it Toyota, Mitsubishi, Suzuki or what? Was it really that marvellous compared to other countries?
