Stoffel
When I choose the improved atgm warhead option for opfor what is meant with that option?are that existing ones like at-10? The soviets have developed a new atgm that is called something as Chrysantemum by nato and it is to be regarded as a third generationmissile. It is supposed to be better than everything nato can field rigthnow because it is fired with supersonic speed and it is an allweather /day-nigth missile with a fire and forgetpossibility. ------------------ h.s.
Guest MajorH
When you choose improved OPFOR ATGMs, you get some additional penetration for each model. Some of them can then kill the US M1 tank from the front. Basically it translates into OPFOR ATGM warheads that are up to Western standards for their size - exotic charge liners, tandem warheads, eyc - in general more expensive and more modern ordnance technology. Improvements that OPFOR could reasonably make if OPFOR were willing and able to spend the time and money. ------------------ Best regards, Major H majorh@mac.com
ltcmayer
another way to look at it is that what Maj H included as standard is the known (unclassified) capabilities of those systems. If you think hat the classified data may give those ATGMs a little more capability -- use the improved warheads. On the other hand, the standard penetration value causes the OPFOR to use the ATGMs in accordance with current Russian doctrine: i.e., as an anti-ATGM system rather than as an anti-tank system.
