JWorthing
hello, How would i go about finding out what unit my girlfriend's grandfather was in. The family are not sure. They believe, when I asked my girlfriend to ask, that he was in the 101. So, I'm guessing that he was in the 101st airborne. (I'm pretty sure he fought during WW2.) How would i confirm this? thanks on any help.
Cpt B M Deleted
The history channel has a new site. I think it has a veteran finder on it too. Go to: www.veterans.com
Frenchy
There are two things you need to do: 1st: Find out if the family has any documents. Preferably his discharge papers or citations (if any). These papers will list the unit he served with. 2nd: If you know his Army serial number you can contact St Louis where the house military personnel records from WW2. The do have a web site. Please note that a large number of iles were destroyed in a fire in 71-72. They'll do their best to reconstruct his records if they were lost. If yo have any other questions please email me. Email is in my profile. ------------------ Webmaster http://www.trailblazersww2.org http://www.vmfa251.org
ARCHANGEL
You might also check with the 101St Airborne Assn, which is located in Clarksville, TN/Hopkinsville, KY...they would probably know.
