Well I have Virtual PC running on a very fast mac and I would like to download the Panzer Elite Demo but I can't find it... (this in preparation Monday's SP W@W release) Is the PE Demo still posted anywhere on the WWW for download? Sorry, NEVERMIND I found it, and the patch downloading it now. I would really like to see it run on a Mac emulating a win/98 OS... Any help would be appreciated. thanks -tom w P.S. what is the status of that game? (PE) discontinued? My first question is where did all the folks (specicifally the programmers) go, who developed the game?? MAYBE, just maybe BTS could hire a few of them after they grow rich and fat with the release and sale of the wildly successful Combat Mission Gold Release.... (And then I woke up) so where is that Gold Demo anyway? you aren't really going to let me play (read, waste my time) on SP W@W next week on a Mac emulating a win /98 OS are you? say its not so........ Not sure how the story goes, but if they were making/porting PE for/to the Mac, i don't think it will be continued. Unless ofcourse some company has bought it. Schrullenhaft Posted May 5, 2000 Share Posted May 5, 2000 You poor soul... attempting to play PC games on a Mac with a PC emulator. Panzer Elite was made by Wings in Germany. Their distributor (Psygnosis) closed shop in Europe a year or so ago. Psygnosis' parent company, Sony, decided to close them up altogether. So, Wings isn't out of business, but their distributor is. Activision is distributing the game in the US and I don't know who is doing Europe, etc. Admittedly, losing your distributor is going to affect finances, etc. This is going to delay the long awaited patches for PE. Guest tom w Posted May 5, 2000 Share Posted May 5, 2000 Well it is a 333MHz G3 with 96 megs of Ram And I was running Virtual PC 3 Win/98 to see if it would work first off the Public Beta had expired so I had to set the clock back a year ok now it works well it sort of works that Panzer Elite game looks like it has potential but I think it is also a great deal more difficult to learn (all the command keys) than Combat Mission I would like to try it out on a FAST PC to see what it would really do... but it did look pretty, lots of Eye candy there's more ram coming then I'll give it another go... Stay tuned for the play test of SP W@W on a Mac G3 under emulation on Monday.. I think Fion Kelly was part of the team that worked on PE. Fion is that right?
