CMBS Ukrainian Cavalry Prototype?

Recommended Posts

Good evening gentlemen!

So, not too long ago I made a question regarding the possible use of Cavalry in both CMBS and CMSF2.

And, still inspired by how the Cavalry units work, how to apply them in these games, how to maximize their potential and general interest into XXI-century Cavalry, I decided to try my best to modify the Ukrainian "Brigade Reconnaissance Company"(since it's the closest UKR unit to Western Cavalry) into two different types of sections, similar to how the US Cavalry works in both Bradley-oriented and Stryker-oriented sections.

Why just at section level and not company level? Because I found out that CM battles are more suited for section vs section battles rather than companies and even battalions... I would have to write a separate topic on that tho.

So, let's begin:

UKR Bucephalus CavSec, aproximately equivalent to US Stryker CavSec:

x2 BTR-4E Bucephalus - Each embarked with TWO Scout Teams and ONE specialised squad(Korsar, Sniper, Forward Artillery Observer, JTAC, etc).

x1 BRM-1K - Embarked with section HQ. The BRM-1K specialised cameras, sensors, signals, detectors etc make it ideal for both command and reconnaissance.

UKR Mechanized CavSec, aproximately equivalent to US Bradley CavSec:

x2 BMP-2 - Each embarked with ONE Scout Team and ONE specialised squad(as above mentioned).

1 BRM-1K - Embarked with section HQ. The very same description as above.

TIPS - Purchase the BMP-2s manually, these will thus be granted with NVG capabilities. Also, just as US Cav units frequently use the FGM-148, I would deploy Korsars as the specialised squad for each BMP-2/BTR-4E, it will greatly improve the section antitank capabilities at long range and also needs no time for deployment nor packing up, like the Javelin.
