Tanaka
Hi, Is there any German troop (infantry included) combination that is not historical ? Thanks, João [This message has been edited by Tanaka (edited 09-27-2000).]
Jarmo
Probably not. Although at least Jagdpanthers are supposed to fight in groups, never alone. And it would be ahistorical to, for example, use King Tigers all the time.
Darwin
I doubt data could be brought forward showing every combination did occur but with all the thrown together defences consitsting of luftwaffe AA units with their own infantry attached, the town volksstrum, whatever army has responsibility for the area and possible straggler groups recruited as they were retreating the Axis have a lot of leeway for scenario design. How historical do you want it to be?
Pham911
For either side there's actually a lot of fudging room. Germans threw together ad hoc units when they needed to, as did the Allies during the Buldge. I can't remember how many times I've read about Allied commanders pressing fleeing units that came through thier positions into service for them. If you pick and choose wisely, you can do ok with assembling mixed forces. If you go nuts and pick 50 Panzershrecks and a sniper, that's probablly pretty ahistoric(and suicial).
