Graphics Problem

Recommended Posts

I am haveing a graphics problem on the large scenerio "All or Nothing". I get about 2 game turns and the graphics on screen go to a patch work of white squares. I have to quit the game and reload to get 2 more turns. I would just forget it and play another scenerio, but I am rocking and about to take the bridge. My system is a PII 450 with 128 Megs of ram and a Monster Fusion graphics card. If anybody has an idea here please e-mail me.

Thanks,

Torg42

If I remember correctly the Diamond Monster Fustion is actually the 3dfx Voodoo Banshee. A video chip that acts as the primary display with a 3D core based on the Voodoo 2 series. It's interesting that you're seeing a problem that other Voodoo 3 owners have reported, but no Voodoo Banshee owners have. One of the issues with the Banshees has been the transparency support, but I'm not particularly aware of other problems.

These are the latest drivers from Diamond (now a defunct company) v.4.10.01.0213 dated 3/24/99:

Here are some tech support documents:

Here's the latest 3dfx Voodoo Banshee Reference driver (v. 1.04.00, dated 2/14/00):

If you decide to use the 3dfx Reference drivers I would suggest performing an uninstall on your Diamond drivers and the InControl Tools 98/99 that you have installed before you install the 3dfx drivers.

What motherboard do you have ? Do you know if there are any BIOS updates available for it ?

What resolution are you running at ? I would suggest something at 1024 x 768 or less for playing CM. Some Voodoo owners have reported that this has helped them avoid the "white out" problem.
