Lead C-47 of D-Day found and saved

Recommended Posts

My brother-in-law, Mike, a retired USAF LT COL and former C-130 driver, sent me this wonderful grog tidbit. Somehow, the lead C-47, That's All, Brother, the first plane over Normandy of the entire D-Day Allied air effort, has been found, its ID confirmed and won't be scrapped or re-engined. To buy this truly historic plane the Commemorative Air Force is running a very successful Kickstarter campaign which looks as though it's going to exceed its goal.
