Could AT / IG guns be modeled as tanks ?

To allow re manning, could AT / IG guns be modeled as tanks ?

I've no doubt it has, and I fully expect a "we've tried it" answer, but it's easier to ask the question again, than try and find a previous answer in the archives.

Presumably it's something fundamental in the code. Maybe AT guns treated as vehicles would be unable to be a part of infantry formations (and unable to participate directly in their communications net, to be affected by their morale, to be carried forward with them in campaigns, etc). Maybe it's (as someone pointed out in another thread) that vehicles can't tow vehicles.

In that case, the gun would have to toggle between being infantry when attached to a vehicle, and a tank when unattached, if that's possible.

I hope not. That sounds like a can of worms BFC would not like to open.
