kohlenklau
For long range planning... Who out there owns the John Tiller Panzer Campaign Market Garden '44 game? With the OMG module hitting the streets soon, we have the potential for a CMPzC Operation combining the 2 games. Typically, everyone buries their head and disappears for weeks after a new module is released. But, say this fall? We could have 3 teams perhaps? Axis, Allies (British) and Allies (US). Anyone interested?
noob
I've got it, and will CO for a side if you want. It would have to be a PzC scenario that would create a lot of CM battles, that way, everyone that wants an operational CM battle can get one straight away.
kohlenklau
OK, if you like you can be the Allies (British) CO. I just ordered it and it should get here in 2 to 3 days. Get it? Then we can independently look at the scenarios and compare notes on which ones look promising.
Broadsword56
The Hell's Highway portion of Market Garden is often a good bet, because those battles with the 101st Airborne rushing to and fro to try and secure the corridor result in a lot of isolated battles of good scale for CM. Those battles are less often in urban terrain, which is a plus if you're one of those who thinks CM still has too many shortcomings in city fighting.
kohlenklau
Only a few folks actually have to own the PzC game. I guess they'd be the CO's. Many others can just hop on to play a CM battle. We try to run it as realistically as possible. If you lose your battle, noob comes to your house and throws a pie in your face. So, Broadsword56, are you volunteering for a CM battle slot? Remember, you have to produce an AAR of at least "Bloody good show, old chap" proportions.
kohlenklau
they say it arrives today.... it was only about $38. free shipping. I guess if nobody else has the game, it will be me against noob at the CO level.

Thank you but no -- I've got my own op-tac campaign planned using the Vassal module for my favorite MG boardgame. Just putting in my two Guilders.
kohlenklau
ok, any chance we can enjoy a small AAR of your op?
Broadsword56
OK, I might, but it would be a while before the op is done and AAR-able. Your interest makes me more motivated to do it. I've stopped doing AARs lately because there are so many other good ones on the forums now, and making them takes up a lot of time and energy that could be spent mapping, playing, etc.
kohlenklau
I love to see AAR's. I absolutely understand the time crunch. My wife does not! Maybe a new style mini-AAR, highlights only? max of 5 images in a post so maybe a thread with 2 or 3 fully chocked posts.
