Hello, a little advice please

Recommended Posts

Heya all, total new guy here that found his dream game(you know that hobbies that you say yourself one day, damn i will master it cause i freaking love it).

Few words, i got myself CMBN + CW bundle along with v2.0, as a good start, i got the awesome graphic and audio mods from the community after researching about the game(manual, forums), played the tutorial campaign along with 3-4 small scenarios to get a grip and now i need you help and advice guys.

Having in mind that eventually i ll play all campaigns and all scenarios(...in the years to come :P), my prefered armies and doctrines are axis although, where shall i head then for an easier learning curve?

Shall i do more randoms scenarios or try a campaign? What you would recommend guys to a green recruit?

(unfortunatelly i am limited vsAI, due to real life stuff)

Thanks in advance and cheers to BattleFront and to the community.

Best regards from Greece!

I'd recommend getting a handful of small and medium QBs against the AI under your belt to start with. The replayability of scenarios, for me, is low, since the "not knowing what's coming" is a good part of the fun, so I'd recommend getting your head round how the game controls actually work, and some basic combat tactics nailed down before you get half an hour into a scenario and realise you've done something dim, just as the first "surprise" kicks in.

Then remember that the scenarios aren't rated for "difficulty", only size, so take it careful :) Every game will teach you something new.

Thanks for the responces, while i am not new in wargames in general, i found the armchair general tactics very helpfull. I enjoy that the game rewards real life tactics and patience.

Anyway practice makes wonders so i ll begin with small encounters before moving to more chaotic ones.

ps. i really wish CMBN had a full battle replay just for checking the flow of the encounter and learning.
