Ludeman
I have a AMD 350 3DNow.64megs,Voodoo2w/8megs. Will CM play ok on a system like this? Will there be support for 3DNow?
Guest John Maragoudakis
Will the PIII's Katmai instructions be supported as well?
Guest Big Time Software
I think these two posts show why we aren't supporting chip specific stuff Not only is there AMD/Intel special sets, but Voodoo and the other 3D chipsets all have their little special stuff too. Since NONE of these are standard, we aren't supporting ANY of them. I don't think people have any idea how hard it is to code for these special cases Ludeman, your system is a very good one for Comabt Mission, as the Voodoo2 w/8MB is our target for "high end" support. A Voodoo3 w/32MB or VRAM is certainly better, but there will be no noticable graphics difference between the two. Speed, of course, would be better but your system should be plenty fine. Herr Oberst
So (now that Pandora's box is opened) will CM be multiprocessor capable? I forget if CM runs in NT4, or just those *pseudo* OS's Win95/98 Running dual Celeron-366, 256MB RAM, nVidia TNT/16MB, and would like to see the additional processor benefit. Finished my first SETI@home data set in a little over 15 hours. Cool!!
Guest Big Time Software
We'll make you a deal... buy everybody at BTS the same system you have and then we will THINK about doing multi-processor support. Pretty fair if you ask me. Steve
