TheVulture Posted March 23, 2012 Share Posted March 23, 2012 I've had a similar issue, but in my case it isn't a problem with the game since it happens to other games as well. There is an issue with some relatively recent ATI motherboards (not sure if it is limited to 64 bit Windows 7 installations) having a problem with the on-board sound that will erratically switch between stereo and surround sound mode. In my case, using headphones, when it switches to surround sound mode all I get are distant ambient noises and all sounds sound as though they come from a long way off - distant and echoing.
