The Commisar
I am wondering if anyone has seen this behavior in CMBB. I was playing an operations game (large size) and during the first part about turn ten, the game crashes (totally locks up, requiring a restart). I discovered that after the restart, the autosave had tried to save the game as something completely different from the operations game I was playing (totally different title and date, number of parts , etc.) and usually this "new" operations game doesn't exist on my game. I use a G-4 Mac with a 1.2 Gigohertz processor and 769 MB of RAM. What can i do to make it stop this strange behavior?
Schrullenhaft
I haven't seen this particular behavior myself from CM (but I don't run on a Mac either). Exactly when does the crash occur, during turn plotting, turn calculation, etc. ? I'm a bit confused about the autosave file that is generated. You say that "this 'new' operations game doesn't exist on my game"; what do you mean by that ? Is the game file not visible in CMBB, but it exists in the saved games folder ? I'd suggest running Disk First Aid or whatever file system diagnostic you have to make sure that there is nothing wrong with the file system. Next I'd suggest, the universal Apple favorite... minimizing the number of extensions and control panels that load up (to a set that will allow you to play CM). Did you use any special partition software for your hard drives or just the Apple software ? Which particular OS version are you running ? Have you made any recent hardware or software changes to your system (new memory, new drivers, new program, etc.) ? Have you done any maintenance lately on your system that may have had you inside the case ?
