hehe I'm not afraid of a lil area firing myself but @jheinrichk was really putting effort into the goal of having most of his Bradleys be out of ammo at the end of the battle. A lot of it fell on innocent trees / grass without any of my troops nearby, but he did force me to advance through a hail of 25mm fire which was an effective tactic I guess.

isn't that a fireteam's style? "we just got shot at, what do we do??" *confusion* "fire everywhere!"

i guess i was trying to skip Bradley rounds off the terrain so they'd blow up further back where i had no LOS

this scenario is very difficult as red, i really could have used some atgm team dismounts.  the tracked vehicles that have atgm are spotted before they can let off a missile

The Treeman won't forget about this horrific estnical cleansing 🥲

shoving in all armor at one location enforce made sense to me.  i was surprised that a break thru did not succeed despite not a single unit appeared to back up when everything started exploding.  wish i could get CMCW on my faster pc to open the saved game files to publish a video of these turns (i had to do these turns on a laptop on the road).  here are some pics tho

We haven't seen much footage so I'll post some.

One of @jheinrichks Bradleys showing off it's natural behavior of deforestation with 25mm HE-I, is caught in the act and stopped cold by my RPG-7 forest ranger. This is the wind-down phase of the battle.
Most of my FSE has been turned into smoldering wrecks, but with 4 out of 5 Abramses destroyed my troops can ascend to the eternal pixel hunting grounds feeling satisfactory.

LOLOL this is a war against trees which are very dangerous and must be felled, blasted or otherwise eliminated.

I think you already got in contact with the official reporting 'system' @BFCElvis😉

Perhaps the 'Who's turn is it' interfered with the PBEM++ functionality? @IanL wrote that AFAIK (as in wrote the code). Maybe he can theorize about it with some more evidence/knowledge.

what was the reason to assign cmcw automated tourney pbem to a third party file management app like wtii or cmhelper? is there a local folder where apps can pick up the incoming/outgoing? seems duplicative to do so.

unrelated, my cmhelper broke some time ago and i can't figure out how to fix.  anyone have any experience with windows power automate desktop?

    I don't know them either.

You should have your first turn in your In Progress box. When it starts every player gets at least that. Once you've played that your opponent will have 2 turns waiting for them. But you definitely have 1 now.....Although it is only setting up the Red password that you don't even need.

You should get emails notifying you when the turns have been sent. If you haven't gotten any, check your spam folder.

Yes we will sit like ducks on your TRP 😜

PS What is your USSR platoon doing casually strolling around my left flank? Never mind some good ole target practice :)

trying out the present day russian army land warfare tactics, just have private Conscriptovich walk right in find out where the fire's coming from.

That's how I understood it. I send my file when it was there and I got back both files for setup from my oppo after. Not sure if he also got to look at both while doing his setup?
    @jheinrichk.

Anyway this battle has all the expensive toys in it (and some twists). Let's see how fast we can turn those into smoking hulks! :D.

so i placed units and made moves as blue without bothering to check out the red perspective.  rotor noise and my AA rip learnt me to hold off asking for air support right out of the gate playing as red later.  fog of war and not knowing in that first turn adds context for me i guess

@BFCElvis you guys went and implemented a synchronous service to upload the save file to the Slitherine servers that locks up CM for several minutes, and during which service call any user interaction causes a fatal error in the application?

I mean jeepers at least give players something that tells them that they need to wait or a progress bar or something that tells us to sit and wait and not do anything, and maybe disable user interactable functionality during the service call.

Agreed. i like playing vast maps with lots of units that take forever (at least for me) to review a turn and set up.  For someone like myself, the lesson of 'don't touch the hot stove' (ie. left clicking, toggling CAPS that was on or just fat thumbing the keyboard during turn finish processing) burns me every single time. Then i have to redo my turn. Glad to know it's not just me.
