That is interesting.  Just curious:  How do you know?  Did you experiment or is there revised info someplace?

Not sure if you're asking me, I just quoted the manual... As far as I know, hiding in open terrain does not benefit infantry --- they don't even go prone.  But tip... a very short slow move with a full pause at the waypoint will make them lie  and remain prone,  if you MUST stop in open terrain, it's better than nothing.

  2. I am promoting  a FINAL BLITZKRIEG *KNOCKOUT* tournament for a $25 Amazon Gift card and ultimate 1337 bragging rights!  So, How does it work?

(NOTE: AFTER MATCHING OPPONENT VERSUS OPPONENT, COIN IS FLIPPED FOR ALLIED OR AXIS -- YOU CAN GET UNLUCKY, OR LUCKY, BUT SKILL WINS THE DAY)

    ****1st round:

8 people sign up (or MORE, 8 is a starting point) --- I throw everybody's name into a hat, and randomly choose names to assign 1 vs 1 matches --- If you lose in round 1, you are OUT --- the remaining 4 players go on.   *4 coin flips*

    ****2nd round:

REDRAW 4 winners names from hat. 1vs1 + 1vs1 on a NEW map. 2 Winners go on to HEADS up match.... *2 coin flips*

    ****FINAL ROUND: Heads up.

1 vs 1 (both players discuss the final scenario, and *1 coin flip*  call heads or tails for the flip) ---- Fight to the death to define an ultimate winner and TWENTY FIVE DOLLAR AMAZON GIFT CARD!!

    ---------------

Anybody interested??? I will set it all up and make it easy via dropbox --- Join EFFECTIVE FIRE https://www.facebook.com/groups/122990801690108/ to chat in the thread about entry!! Good luck to all.

You're welcome. Also, if you can't target the actual building, you can sometimes target just in front of it. If you fire from a good distance, the bullets will hit the building anyway. If you're too close, the bullets hit the ground.

Dude.  You might have just solved a problem I'm having with LOS.   I am definitely going to open up anyway now, thnx.

Yep, there's a suppressive effect, but it's a bit less than if you're able to target the actual floor.

Tyvm.  This is what I expected from the engine, and hoped for.   I have a MP game going of all regulars verses elites, infantry only.... so you see why I am enquiring. :D

There is nothing special about slow. The fact that the vehicle is going slowly offers more time along the path for  spotting but that's about it. The only real way to hear nearby armour is to have dismounts (either a crew or accompanying infantry) nearby. Mounted crew will not get ? as a result of sound because they are sitting in a big noise maker - even then idling.

So, are you saying that using slow to hide "noise contact" with armor is a pretty pointless tactic?  Might as well move fast or normal, because you will ALWAYS be heard?
