  1. No, all of the problems support have fixed in a short amount of time says a lot about support, how long have you been here? not even a week and you think you can say support is bad because of a faulty link?

    Yeah ok buddy.

Have you understand what I wrote? They did not answered e-mail in a week. You call it good support?

  2. Wait...

Are you telling me that you buy a new computer every year?

We all know that DRM is an inconvenience, both for us players and the developers. But if it wouldn't work in some way developers wouldn't spend resources to aquire DRM.

I never had any problems with DRM, and from what I can tell Battlefront prides themselves with their excellent customer support.

Yes, it sucks not being able to download everything as much as you want. Some will prefer a system where they have to enter a key once and won't be bothered again, others like DRM plattforms like Steam which expect you to log into an account every time you want to play something, but in return offer a huge number of games connected to your account, and additional fetures.

In the end I't say that (this kind of) DRM is just a minor inconvenience: You do it once, and unless something unexpected happens you can play your game. If you liked the game don't let the activation procedure stop you from enjoying it.

Support is far from exelent. I have written e-mail to forum administrator that my account can not be activated but never got a reply. I have to create another account tied to different e-mail. I am afraid same can happen when I have problem with license.

I do not buy computer every year but I change some components quite often and I reinstall windows regularly so licensing may be problematic.

  3. i'd preffer to press 1 button that will automatically login me into UI/game than this/ infact steam is awesome

I do not like DRM either but steam/origin have much more fair policy than CM. In fact they make life dificult for legal gamers. Pirates just do not care because it is easier to get game from torrent and just launch it to write e-mails in foreing language explaining that you are not a thief and you want to play game you bought.

  4. You can send in a ticket at any time and ask for another activation, I can't think of a situation where a user who honestly owned the game got denied another license.

So now I understand why people are complaining. You buy expensive game and you can install it only four times -- this is really terrible practice. Is there any source of authorative information how activation system really works because I won't probably buy this game if it is only valid for 4 windows reinstalations.

  5.

I do not think that anyone has catalogued maps by size but Mark's new map naming convention in CMBS means the size is there for all to see in the file system.  As an example consider:

    Village-Water (864 X 592) 299 Attack.btt

First part describes the terrain, second is the size, third is the unique number and last is the type of QB game it is for. So, you can see the size distribution pretty easily.

There are 330 map files in the QB directory but many of the maps are reused for attack, probe and assault so Mark usually does not count the individual map files.  By his way of counting there are 86 attack/probe/assault maps and 72 meeting engagement maps.

In fact it is quite easy to check. When I start mission (in demo) I can sort by map size so it would suffice to find first element on that sorted list which has map size larger then time or small then number of this element minus one would give count of tiny + small map sizes.

  6. Where did you find complaints like that?  I can only remember it coming up occasionally on these forums where people had problems and each time they were resolved by the help desk. At least as far as I recall.  Sure, sometimes we get a thread that is a bitch session but I have no knowledge of actual unresolved issues around licensing that resulted in people not being able to play.

I personally have had problems twice and both times the help desk had me back up and running very quickly.

If my memory servers it was on steam forum comparing Graviteam Tactics to Theater of War to Combat Mission.

  7. You get 4 activations total. No need to deactivate. New activation is needed on each new PC or... when you reinstall Windows/upgrade PC. Then you get 1 activation restored every year. If you happen to run out of activations you can write a message to devs and they can add an activation for you.

Of course once the game is activated you don't need to go online anymore for the game to work.

When I know that I am upgrading my PC can I deactivate product somehow to increase my activation count by 1?

  8. I plan to buy CMBS but I have stumbled upon some complains about licensing of this game. People claims that they can not activate game after reinstalling system and generally were compaining about some unfair licensing. Can you provide some details on what is the activation or reactivation process?
