  1. Pelcor along with alot of other companys make electronic ear muffs that amplify minute sounds and block lound sudden sounds. You can hear footsteps a mile away but wont hear gunshots. **** we had those in '05, you can buy them at any wallmart for around $40ish.

  2. Ok, I have another feature I'd like to see\have.

Some way to reserve troops in quick battles, and/or call them out during the game. I'd prefer to be able to call them as needed rather then both players getting them in set time intervals.

My idea is, while in the force selection screen you can right click whatever unit,platoon,company....wtf ever and place it in a reserve slot. You could have a set number of reserve slots so you could call in your reserves via hotkeys, ala shift+alt1,2,3,4,5 etc....
Or you could call them from reserve via the action menu which you could mouse over your reserve numbers and a hotbar will come up showing what you brought in that slot.
Another idea would be while in the force selection screen and you place units in reserve you could name the reserve group, so instead of 1,2,3,4, etc... you could say
Inf co w/t tnk. Whatever you want to name it.

I suggest this idea for several reasons, the simplest being to keep things manageable when staring initial deployment. Deploy a whole battalion is daunting and makes me avoid the larger battles. The most obvious reason would be to help cut down on deployment shelling and the best reason would be to give players another level of operational freedom.

Sorry for my crap engrish, bare with me as I'm on my phone.

  3. So I guess we're all showing our back when we were cool photos?

Anyway.  Those are the sweet clear versions of the ballistic lenses and the eyeglass insert on my face circa 2010.  They are a nearly inescapable part of being a soldier so long as there's a Sergeant Major somewhere in the AO.

Although there is a criminal lack of PT belts around these parts.

my gawd, did I just read company-grade say that they want MORE PT belts?!?! Oh wait....thats pretty snafu.

  4. I tried uploading my team picture up from 2005 in Haditha with 3/1 where most of us are wearing sunglasses. Marines are issued Ski-goggles and sunglasses from the company ESS, I still have mine.
Wtf is with this 501kb upload? wtf I cropped the f outa the dang picture....oh well.

LukeFF How the heck were you guys able to kill bad guys without an elite tacticool rail system on your A2s?
2004? Pft you guys were stone age.

  5.

that one gets tricky as "contact" could be anything and you'd have all your guys dismounting because of a lone soldier being spotted across the map.

What if the APC takes fire or sees something that can kill it at the contacts effective range? For example, it spots a tank a mile or so off in the distance so it stops and drops the infantry(Because it can be harmed by the tank at that range), but if it spots enemy infantry at that range it wont care(Unless its in effective at rocket range..) Once again you could toggle this in the combat or action menu.

Can you do it now?  If you give your APC a hunt command and the infantry inside a hunt command to a location close by the end point: then when the APC sees something and stops the troops will jump out and start hunting and stop when they spot the threat too.

PS I have not tried it but it feels like it should work.

Thats a smart work around, but what about cases where there are longer engagement rangers and you can't micky mouse the waypoints? In urban centers thats fine but in maps like the valley of death scenario in Black Sea I'd say its necessary because you need to hunt and fast move several times in a turn. Armor warfare in BS is fast and brutal so I think this could really help, and if you're still not convenced  it'll atleast cut down on micro management.

  7. The next module for Black sea will introduce the description changes I've made but not necessarily with the base game QB Maps that already exist.  The changes that BFC has made to improve the TOE selection and game play will no doubt be included for the base game and the module as that's their policy.

Okay, thanks for letting me know. Thanks so much for all your hard work for our entertainment. Seriously, thank you.

  8. This might be pointed at before, but just an open field with the vehicles staring at each other is pretty unrealistic in game, these vehicles rely on alot more then just "who can spot its equivalent first". Mainly concealment and recon, most...well, alot of my spots are done via recon relays via radio.
I'm a huge critic of the ai in this game and for the most part I believe the ai is garbage but the spotting & communication aswell as the rest of the systems in place are pretty solid. You just have to the hold the AI's hand.

  9. In the USMC, when I was in 2/3 our squad size was mission dependant, it's generally 12 but I've seen as large as 18 when I took part in ts-15 ops with the ADF. Most squads larger than 12 are attached elements but are organised into fireteams that'll maneuver like the rest of the squad, its very plug and play.

  10. Would love to see a Green Beret formation that has a few special forces advisers for HQ units but the rest of the to&e be militia with a healthy mix of eastern and  western equipment.

I'd also Like to see an Island map which features SOF infilling the island and can start the match anywhere along the coast, they then have a host of objectives to complete in any order.
Such as Destroy AA, Kill vip, Airstrike/cruise missle airstrip, Destroy ammo dump, Ambush enemy motocade, Hostage rescue, Link up with local resistance leaders, etc...
It would be a CMx2 take on an open world game. Some missions may have a time limit to complete or you could miss your window of opportunity.

Just some ideas I wanted to put on paper.

  11. Yes. There are some Nordwind scenarios and other Jan 45 scenarios included.

Personally I'd love to see Poland included as soon as possible, but the plan currently is to expand the equipment, forces, and capabilities of the nations already present before moving to other nations. However all of this is very preliminary.

Volksgrenadiers won't be a problem, after all they have been made for Final Blitzkrieg. Brazil is a solid "maybe".

The CMBS Marine & Airborne forces expansion, will that be holiday 2016 or tba '17? Just seems quite ways off.  I love my Corps and hope to command them asap.

  12. Well I myself, haven't seen these statements. Also, I'm not repeating myself as I have only expressed myself about the AI before in 1 other thread. I'm not going on about the AI in this thread, just suggesting Kick starter to give them funds to give them some buffer money to have the time to make these changes. I also would rather have the developers spend time improving the game than have a few old fart wana be historians\couch Pattons demand proper stitching on uniforms.

  13. Wow this has gone off the deep end.  A desire to create an open environment where people can create their own AI layer and their own units.  Isn't that Arma? Go play and create and have fun sounds to me like it is all there.  What all that openness has still not created a WWII tactical simulation game that can be played H2H?  Qelle surprise!

Throwing $ and people at a problem is not necessarily a good answer either. I have been on projects where the execs just hired 2x the programmers and expected 2x the stuff and actually got more like 1.5x total crap.  Growing a development team needs to be done slowly and with care. That is assuming growth is desired.

You guys are asking / expecting stuff that just does not seem to be on the road map.

There are plenty of WW2 mods, look at I44, infact there have been several maps made that combined I44 with Mapfact command engine (still an arma mod) since the days of the very first operation flashpoint. Infact I remember playing one called "Early morning" made by fellow named Winters.

Just because people support openness and willingness to mod a game they love and want to help grow doesnt give you the right to smart ass comment "Qelle surprise!". If we want to go down that road I can show several posts where several "OMFG I GOTZ MOAR THAN 1000 POSTS I AM VET FUK U NU KIDS LOL"posts made by fanboys. As of writing this post there have been several discussions on the AI and these long term fourm goers just **** all over any suggestions for change. How about you guys change your freaking attitudes.

Any company that wants to make money needs to listen to their customers and need to have better PR, where are the mods freaking muteing these smart ass comments or giving out warnings?

Anyways Adapt or die, its not just a term used in the Marines. You should apply that to everything. If there is a demand it should be met and you shouldn't shooo off your favorite developers customers to another game because you don't like change.

As for Stagler, I love you guys' mods for arma, hell even all they way back from OFP when you released your first motor rifle guys and tanks. I Remember wakeing up and finding your VDV units released on ofp.info and not even thinking twice about downloading. Not to mention your arma 3 stuff is to die for. No way you guys arnt going to win.
