  1. In that case, a US vs China scenario set in Taiwan would be my vote!

Wow that is a cracker of an idea, the best suggestion so far. It would be awesome starting the campaign as USMC assaulting a shoreline with AAV-7's, and the the following scenarios could be a series of battles as the Marines fight their way inland.

  2. I think a National Training Centre, Fort Irwin map would be perfect. The Russians would be OPFOR  (11th Armoured Cavalry Regiment) just like in real life, so there is no need for a fictitious backstory. Scenarios could be exact or close replicates of past and current training missions. Kieme you would be my hero if you could create this map.

  3. In my first attempt of the 1st mission I tried to overwhelm the enemy with sheer numbers, moved my troops in fast with plenty of recon by fire into suspect buildings, but took huge losses. In my second attempt my troops are moving much more cautiously, I don't want to get bogged down but the high density of buildings is making the fighting difficult and slow. I'm really enjoying this first mission, I wish I could give more feedback about the following missions but I don't want to rush my men into the meat grinder again, this battle is going to take me some time.

If I can make one suggestion, and it's only a petty nitpick, perhaps more fences could be added around houses. Overall this is a great map for urban combat and I think the AI is going to give most players a decent arm wrestle.

  4. A map with all those high-rise apartment blocks would be awesome, a snipers paradise. Perhaps the objective could be to secure a highway that is surrounded by tall buildings like in that last picture you posted, that would be one hell of a tough scenario, and one hell of a fun scenario.

  5. Cpl Steiner, yes I was playing as red side and I will most definitely be playing this scenario again. I don't mind that I got my ass thoroughly whooped by the AI, actually it makes the challenge more engaging because now I am determined to do better.

The_MonkeyKing, I am going to try and replicate your attack plan with the BMP-2, I should have tried this in my first attempt, I waited too long and the enemy reinforcements tore my APC's to pieces.

  6. My forces were subjected to pain in a harsh manner, I tried in vain to deplete their forward forces with RPG's at medium range for an hour, seriously an HOUR!

I literally ran out of RPG's, I acquired every round from every vehicle and only destroyed one enemy APC, my men were the worst shots in history, hard to believe they are such incredibly bad aims. I tried to attack with my APC's, they only destroyed one enemy APC and perhaps a squad of troops before they were obliterated. This is easily the hardest mission I have played yet, really interested in hearing how others go with this mission.

  7. I thought I was being rather stealthy with my initial recon but they got mauled real quick, as soon as my first platoon arrived I hurried them into some buildings and a long violent firefight broke out, enemy RPG's were pounding the crap out of my men. I'm going to restart the game tonight, I have devised a new plan. Really fun scenario Macisle, I hope you create more of them, thanks for sharing.
