    Ah, ok, so its not like a 2 week wait period or something ridiculous like that. Yeh, a day seems fairly reasonable, considering you save almost 30 bucks of shipping cost plus additional customs charges for a hard copy that you dont really need in this day and age.

    As has been pointed out, you are merely fulfilling a traditional role. A little like dressing up as Santa for the kids clamoring for the presents at Christmas (a tradition in these parts at least). Just go with it and enjoy the game, you lucky bastard. And have a safe flight ;)

    I know I know. Im sitting in front of laptop watching the download completing, grinning from ear to ear anyway.

    Astano, thank you for pointing that out to me. My bad. I didnt realise Battlefront operated on a staggered release platform, with pre-orders going out first. When I pre-ordered the game, I just thought it was because it would be cheaper than purchasing it when the game would be released.

    Yes, the air support can be decisive.. I doubt mine will be.. unless I can take out his AA assets.. which is a tall order in the next 5 minutes.  I expect his will have more luck as I only have two Tunguskas, and zero MANPADs so will be at his mercy.

    Thanks for the asnwer. Do planes perform a strike and fly on, or do they loiter for a few turns, engaging targets of opportunity until their weapon load is spent?

    Hi Bil, have been following your AAR for a few weeks now, but havent had any cause to pipe in. I have a question: you seem to be counting quite alot on the Air support arriving in a few minutes time. This is the first AAR i have read on CMBS. Is the air support really powerful in this game? Can it be a battle-changer?

    We have some Russian/Ukrainian speaking people helping us out, although most of them are not beta testers and a few have declined to identify themselves in the credits. Granted, they are still greatly outnumbered by the English speaking folk. :o

    Aww shucks, and here i thought i had a sure-fire way into the beta.

    What if i mailed you vodka and caviar - would that do it?

    OOF! Really excited with the potential release being before end of January. Pre-ordered it yesterday, cant wait to download.

     

    If you guys drop the game on the 29th Jan or before, I will love you especially hard. Got an 18 hour flight on 30th Jan, which would be perfect for some solo campaign games of CMBS!

     

    By the way, I noticed in the manual on the page listing the beta testers, that there is only 1 (ONE!) Russian named person out of the sixty or so people involved in testing. Thats terrible!

     

    I can speak Russian, Ukrainian and English fluently - how about you guys release the game files to me early, so that I can get some tests underway on the spoken and written vocabulary of the Russian and Ukrainian forces  ;)  ;)  ^_^  :D  ?
