  1. You'll have seen me on those, too! Keep on asking the questions - not everything is in the manual, and some things are explained better by the guys who post here as well. I recently played through three-quarters of a scenario which was plagued with weird LOS issues. At some point I hit the "wrong" hot-key and trees sprung up all over the place. I'd assumed that the default setting was full tree coverage and that the map was just devoid of trees. So now "pre-flight checks" include cycling through Alt-T until I'm sure I've seen the full coverage
  2. What I wanted was really just to review the overall flow of the battle at the end - even from just one, elevated view point.
  3. Okay, thanks for the prompt replies. Time to reload that saved game...
  4. I realize that you can make videos using FRAPS and the like, but is it possible to view the whole battle (ie all turns strung together?) you've just played from within the game? I'm talking about WEGO here. And if not wouldn't it be a cool feature? Seems like it should be fairly straightforward, but I guess there would be HDD space issues
  5. In a recent scenario one of my HQ units spotted an SPG on move one. Not having any armour myself, but a fair amount of off-map arty, I directed the unit to hit the Marder (I believe it was) with an 81mm barrage. During the the next few moves, some of my guys popped smoke and it interrupted the LoS, but the barrage landed where I wanted it to, so I was quite confident I'd disabled the enemy vehicle. Later on a Marder popped up in a slightly different place (on a line between original observer and first SPG). At the end of the game, there was no evidence of a damaged SPG in amongst the mortar craters form my barrage. What I want to know is: does the FoW extend to units placing spotted elements in the wrong place? Or was it more likely that that the original had escaped the barrage and managed to move without being seen? I was playing on "Warrior" difficulty SPOLIER This was the "La Hamelet" mission from Road to Monteburg SPOILER
  6. This here is the problem: It seems to me that "technical fixes and occasionally some small improvements" is a highly subjective phrase. Don't get me wrong - I'm not complaining, and will soon buy the upgrade, followed by the MG module. I can see, however, that "technical fixes" and "small improvements" may mean different things to different people
  7. If I upgrade from v1.11 to v2.0 will I be able to play my saved games?
  8. This would be my first post here - hi all:) I played a lot of CMBB and have really enjoyed my first couple of battles in CMBN. I have, however, found it difficult to use the arty - specifically getting an observer into position. It seems that if move my FOO to have LOS to the target, then the target will see him and either kill or suppress him. This occurs even when I move him/them slowly (in concealment) up to a hedgeline. Is it the precision of my move command? Am I not paying close enough attention to pathing? I should add that this is when I'm attacking, so I have to move to get a view of the target. As a corollary to this, am I right in thinking that the observer has to maintain visual contact with the target until I hear the "Fire for effect" message?
