  1. I wonder whether specialist teams like snipers or forward observers actually have special properties or whether they differ from the other pixel troops only by owning special equipment (like a sniper rifle or binoculars). For example, are snipers and FOs harder to spot because they are trained to conceal themselves. Or do FOs have a bonus when spotting versus regular troops equipped with binoculars?

I know I could test it myself, but maybe someone already knows the answer.

  2. In many Attack QB maps installed with the game, the attackers setup zone is very small compared to how many units are crammed into it. Small enough that a defender can gain a decisive advantage by barraging said setup zone and inflicting far more damage than the cost of the barrage.

I would rather increase the size of the setup zone then than disallowing pre-planned artillery.

I am strongly against disabling realistic features in the favor of "play balance". I don't even mind who wins the battle when playing the game, I just want to see a drama unfold.

  3. Just joined the forum to say that I also enjoy the game immensely (my first CM game). To all these people who think that the game is unplayable because of some minor bugs or strange occurrences in the game:

    1. Get a life. It's just a game. What do you expect for 55$, software approved by the DoD?

    2. Some strange or unexpected behaviour in the game is nothing compared to the chaos and friction encountered on a real battlefield. Obvious bugs will be fixed and if you do not like unjust, unexpected or silly things to happen you should not bother to play a wargame. Play chess instead.

    3. Start your own company and write your 100% bugfree and 100% realistic tactical simulation (and sell it for 55$ with making a profit). Good luck.
