  1. This is the second amd card I've ever had and it seems they always have problems with certain games.  As I have been considering an upgrade to probably the last computer I will ever buy. I decided to pull the trigger and I have chosen to go with NVidia. Apparently there's reason Amd's components are cheaper. I hope AMD fixes their problems for those of you who don't have this option.

I'm not experiencing the same...My Abrams get destroyed easily in the campaign I'm playing when I do not pay attention. By the way, the manual states that newer Abrams versions have top notch optics and firing control system, what do you expect?

Well I would expect static tanks under cover and scanning their front from open hatches would be able to see a moving tank and be able to get off a shot.

  3. Me and a buddy have been playing a number of scenarios. US vs Russia.....we alternate every game and the Abrams seem to be invisible. The Russians can be sitting there observing their front with open hatches and as the Abrams move up they just take out each tank before they are even seen in total daylight. I'm in a game right now where 2 Abrams are slowly advancing upon the Russians in a static position and they always get the first shot which is lethal and even if it takes two shots they are still unseen. The Russian tanks aren't even getting off a shot. They don't seem to see the Abrams until they are already dead.

Definitely dont need to install to your users/docs folder, that just holds your saves/settings and not the actual game. Default location on Windows is usually C:\Program Filesx86\Battlefront\CMSF2...  Since you've tried installing to multiple locations, double check your shortcut to make sure its sending you to the right/new CMSF2.exe. But I think your best option is to do a total reinstall.

Ok, I'm partway thru the Marine campaign. Can I save it to continue in a reinstall? If not, is this update worth losing the campaign progress?

Check out the third post on page 1, maybe that's your issue. The installer's default path for the patch is an unwanted nested folder inside the game's main directory.

Unfortunately that isn't it. The patch doesn't create a new directory like it the post said. I didn't get the patch until a few days ago so I think they must have fixed that problem. I can't figure out the problem. The modified date for the exe file after installation of the patch is July 6, 2020, but when I run the game it still says it's version 2.01. I've tried installing the patch to another temporary directory and then copying it over, and I've copied the individual files over also. I did run the patch from the temporary directory.

  7. Well, apparently I'm having a problem installing the patch. I've installed the recently released patches for all the other Combat Mission games except CMFB. Haven't done that yet. No problem on any of them, but for CMSF2....I can't get it to work. Every time I run the game is says version 2.01. I've installed to the default location, apparently there's two locations that contain the game...one of them is in my /documents folder. Anyway I've installed to both locations trying to get the patch to work but have had no success.

Yeah, I figured out that it wants a key for SF 1. Trouble is I don't have one. In the past I was told to just install SF1 and then a module with it's key and it would work.  Problem is it doesn't work now.  Still waiting to hear from  John.

The Help Desk and your Store account are totally separate systems.  Longins for one don't have anything to do with logins for the other.

I already passed along your info to John and he'll help sort this out for you.  Personal info from you is probably needed to move things along and that is definitely nothing that should be done here in public. In fact, I removed your email address from your last post.

We operate on US EST time zone so you'll get a response sometime tomorrow, but for sure I see a problem.   You have not entered your original CMSF1 Base Game license key.  See where it says "Main Game v2"?  You should also see "Main Game v1" if the license was entered.  Remember, the 3 Module Bundle is only the Modules, so you must also have a Base Game key.  Again, John will help sort that out for you tomorrow.

Still haven't heard from John. Still can't play the game. I wish there was another way to get some help here. The ticket system isn't working for me for some reason and I appear to be on a back burner or something seeing as how so many others seem to get almost immediate help.

Digital download is currently the only shipping option for the discounted upgrades. That's one of the reasons BFC is selling it us previous owners for so little. Maybe BFC can ship a disc to someone with really slow or no internet if that's the case. I'm also pretty sure that the "upgrade" is probably only offered by BFC.

When I made my purchase I was offered the option of disk and manual. I purchased the upgrade and got the download and printed manual.
