I apologize for my temper tantrum, it was a bad day. I have the liscense key, but I get the error=11 code. All my activations have been used. The thing is, I can't uninstall it from the broken computer. Anyway, I submitted a help ticket.
Thank you for your response and patience.

I new this day would come! My old computer crapped out, and now I can't install the original global conflict. Battle front is preventing me from playing my legaly purchased game, now I'll have to jump through all kinds of hoops or buy the game again! That won't happen! In fact I may never get a battlefront game again.
Thanks for the headaches battlefront.

vonRocko,
Can't you do better than that? Oh yeah....
How can I hope to match your rapier wit. I can't compete with lines such as "you're pathetic" or "where is your flamethrower". I mean, those were brilliant comebacks!
"And why do all these people hang out here so they can keep chiming in that whatever topic that came up is how it is because it was like that in SF?"
How can I top someone who can write a sentence like that? Obviously, you have a brilliant command of the english language.
Perhaps, you can defend a game without personal attacks, but I doubt it.
-
Dude! Are you for serious!?!? You really hang out on their game forum to say its pathetic that they don't have flamethrowers? You are pathetic. Where is your flamethrower btw?\
And why do all these people hang out here so they can keep chiming in that whatever topic that came up is how it is because it was like that in SF?
Awww....did I poo-poo your little game? It will be ok Breezy dude, here's your blanky.
-
It's still funny:D. There aren't flame's because there weren't in the SF:P.
It's pathetic, actually.

I dont know what being out of contact has to do with it but, like moon says happens, i have definitely seen on many occasions my troops seeing and firing on troops that I, the player, am not allowed to see.
I get this alot, and I play on basic training level.

I'm aware of the stats on the frequency of it in WW2. But in the game, in my experiences, it happens more frequent than real life. Anyhow, I know this has been discussed before. My first post was strictly in response to the original video, and I didn't mean to rehash the hand to hand issue. It is what it is.

The problem with not doing some kind of animation is that suddenly we'd have guys dying for no visible reason. There has to be some kind of feedback associated with it.
But the players would know that those casualties came from the close combat, and a simple rifle swinging animation would be all that is needed to show that close combat is taking place.

Let's try not to insult each other, guys. That said, when I spent my third son's first week in the hospital sitting in a hospital chair making final builds of CMBN (and the next week working out of a surgery bed), calling me, or any of us, "lazy" feels pretty insulting. Maybe lay off the personal attacks on all sides, please.
You're right, I apologise for saying lazy, the word is neglectful. Forget animation, it doesn't have to be sophisticated, just some system to resolve hand to hand. I don't know why some say this is rare, (ok, running out of ammo is rare), but I get troops in hand to hand range frequently.
-
How you could call anyone involved in developing the CM series lazy is beyond me, you obviously have no experience of creating large complex tasks within certain fiscal and temporal limitations.
Given how much BF have put into the game that's right or getting there, and how rare it was for troops in the Western theatre to go hand to hand, i think it's churlish to attack the game for that omission, i personally have never played a game where my troops had no ammo at all at the end, in fact it's something i suspect most players experience, at the end of a game they have too much ammo left, and therefore i have failed to maximise the troops combat potential, and any troops i have had with extremely low ammo levels are usually blown and couldn't fight hand to hand from excessive cowering.
Thanks for removing the insults.

Looks like someone is trying to bash the game.
.
I like the game, I just feel neglecting close combat is laziness on the developers part.
-
Apparently some of you see nothing wrong with combatants just dancing around each other. Yes, for a 'game of the year" product, this is pathetic.

what do you think about this?
I think it is ridiculous, and all people can do is make jokes about it because it is so pathetic.
-
Well deserved! It should have been #1. In my opinion, wite sucks.
-
Looking forward to the release.
I must say the communication from the developers has been fantastic compared with what I'm used to!
What communication is that? This is practically the first words from them in 6 months!

This is likely the correct answer, If you have him give buddy aid , then maybe the rounds will be his.
If this is true, then how can we trust any numbers to tell us what he has? I mean, the number would be how much he can possibly get, as oppossed to what he actually has. That doesn't sound right. I doubt battlefront made it like that. But who knows, with no feedback from battlefront, we are left to guess.

Once a minefield is identified can infantry pass through it without danger? Thanks.
I'm not sure of the first part, but the answer to this part is no. They will still trigger mines.

Wow, I wonder what the world will be like when we finally get to the east front? At the rate it is going at now, that looks like 2020-23. By then I might be fighting it in virtual reality, if I'm alive at all!

I'm becoming a real fan of you Aris. Great job and thank you!
-
Thanks Aris! Great work!

I would love to see pacific action also, but we can't even get the next module for this game! I don't see it ever happening.

Holy Moly! That's the game I want!
