  1. Good observation. I hadn't realized that condition would/could affect things. Perhaps it would be prudent to investigate spotting ability with these conditions.
  2. Excellent work Jenricks, that basically went above and beyond to show that there is indeed some tweaking needed, and not just with accuracy, but even more importantly IMHO with spotting. I tend to use my sniper teams more for spotting than for actual sniping, and it actually hadn't dawned on me until you mentioned it that they never spot enemy infantry until they start firing. Great to hear Battlefront will be looking into this. Obviously I'm not expecting my snipers to mow down entire platoons on their own, and I do realize as some have stated that some abtraction comes into play in the form of cover that can't be seen and such, but a serious improvement is needed if they are to be representative of the real thing. As an aside, some good accounts of sniping in a similar environment (Iraq ofcourse, Fallujah in particular) can be found in No True Glory by Bing West. Not a plug for the book, just thought it would be a good gauge to read about what they could do in the given environment.
  3. Center mass shots would be easier especially for those longer range shots.
  4. Agreed. I was wondering why no one else seemed to notice this. I mean, I never expected my snipers to be perfect, but from all the accounts I've read about real operations and engagements with military snipers, they are far more accurate than they are in CMSF. At least as far as snipers in the U.S. military, don't know anything about the Syrian counter-parts. The first time I saw one of my snipers firing at a crawling target 250m away out on open ground, and I saw shot after shot after shot missing, I knew something wasn't right. I think he finally hit his mark on the 8th or 9th round, or the target finally reached the building he was crawling towards. I think I may still have the save file just before this occured.
  5. I read through this and still don't understand what any of it has to do with Shock Force. As for the flying sub concept, it was put into service back in 1987 (Here). It had severe limitations though being completely made of plastic and only able to fit men who were 3 1/2 inches tall. Sorry, don't mean to pick a fight with anyone, just read about that in the newspaper this morning, then I come on here and find a discussion on it turned bad so thought to lighten the mood a bit. The fact of the matter is I don't know what "black" projects do or do not exist out there, and I'm not going to stance on either side of the "I want to believe" mentality on it all.
  6. I just bought the CMSF and Marines bundle and am currently getting used to the game having to relearn some stuff from the previous CM games. One thing that has bugged me is my Stryker vehicles constantly popping smoke when under small-arms fire, but then being unable to return fire or provide suppressing fire. I was under the impression these vehicles had Thermal Imaging equipment and were capable of seeing through regular smoke (not the brown kind), and in fact looking through the manual I see this line here: So what gives? Is this feature not currently working correctly? Or have I only been using Strykers without the RWS system? And if so, how can I tell which variant I have?
