  1. Before I start complaining I must state that I have absolutely loved the CM series since CMBO. I was at first disappointed that the new CMx2 was launched with modern warfare but I totally love the new series SF as well. Having given acclaim I also have to give criticsims. As I see there are basically two problems With CMx2 CMSF (1) massive memory leakage (I have to save every game turn otherwise the game turns in to a slide show). and (2) a total inability of the game to use modern graphics cards (I've got a new Radeon 2X 2gb, fat lot of good that does me ). These stements are supported by a lot of posts so I' won't get into them in detail. However, I find these issues so serious that I can't understand how Battlefront can be contemplating launching the new Overlord game before fixing these glaring problems in a otherwise good game. What worries me even more is that the game is more than a year old and into patch 1.10 with seemingly no solution in the immediate future. I even wonder if Battlefront sees these issues as a problem? Given their feedback in this post I would have to say we will have to wait in vain for solutions to these problems. Or worse still the new engine can't be modified to fix these issues.
  2. I have a distinct feeling all my troops start out with good comunications. If I click around they all have radios or some satellite thingy. But for instance just unloading them from a vehicle to at building removes the radio symbol and they loose contact with higher and lower units. I'm not really sure how permanent this condition is. Does this constitute a bug or does it simulate something like pfc Butterfingers dropping the radio/C2 link
  3. Artillery munitions comes in three flavours; General, armour and personnell. What is the best type of munitions mix to use on buildings. Is it general?
  4. thanks for the tip. By the way do you aquire targets for the snipers or do you let them hamdle that themselves.
  5. What is the best way to employ snipers? Is it as it seems to place them in a building and just let them be. Or should you be more active?
  6. I've learned that if you move and reposition (I try to reposition every Bradley once every turn unless it´s doing vital supression) your Bradley's frequently. They'll usually stay out of harm. Also supression is extremely important. The disaster recipie is to leave Bradley's where they are in turn one.
  7. I tried the target command (not the target light) but the ¤%&? wouldn't fire the Javelin. Well at least now I know it works. Thanks for the tip.
  8. You can fire TOW missiles from Bradleys on infantry in buildings. But has anyone been able to fire Javelins at infantry in buildings? I've tried but failed. Perhaps this is a no-brainer qustion and the javelin is really totally unsuited for AP-use (which my digital soldiers know but I don´t).
  9. Does anyone know of a good method to clear mines? For instance you don't know where exactly the mines are. How safe (not very safe i suspect) is for engineers to search on a vehicle? Or should the engineers have a normal move command through an area you think there might be mines or should they use slow instead. How do you cover them with smoke (infantry smoke insn't abundant) since the engineers probably are ahead of the covering vehicles? Once you locate the mines how far do you set the way point for the command clear mines? Any tips or tricks? Lots of questions hope someone can answer.
  10. Does anybody know of a website a la the Scenario Depot (apparantly not for CMSF but only the older CMBO, CMBB and CMAK) for additional scenarios other than those on the CMSF CD?
  11. Thanks for the clarifying. I tried it last evening and it worked. CMSF takes some time to get used to even though I'm a CMBO, CMBB and CMAK veteran.
  12. I can't pop smoke with a vehicle with the Way Point highlighted. So I have to "de-highlight it then hit the smoke button. This is a bit irritating since the vehicle pops smoke at start and then again at the (often) unloading point. It feels like I'm doing something wrong. But what?
