  2. Exactly, it's no coincidence that they (and not some line infantry regiments) assumed the role of mobile infantry for the divisioni corazzate and divisioni celeri.

    Perhaps today (with a professional army and a high proportion of bersaglieri with respect to the infantry totals) bersaglieri are not that much different from ordinary mech infantry, but I'm positive that for equipement, organization, fitness and esprit de corps they were way better than line infantry in WW2.

    BTW I'm surprised that, given the quote in your signature, you think that bersaglieri unit weren't better than average line infantry. ;)

    Of course I'm referring to battaglioni mobilitati, carabinieri paracadutisti and other units that had front line duties, not the average MP company.

    I hope the game will correctly model the peculiarities of Italian equipement. BTW, now that CMx2 is able to model HESH ammo, perhaps we will see effetto pronto shells for Italian guns.

    We agree, but I really have never said they were not worse or equal to line infantry, I just say that I think could not be considered fully Elite, like Parà or Alpini or for example at the XXXI or XXXII Btg.Guastatori in North Africa just one example.

    Anyway, I was referring only to the period of WW2.

    The batt. carabinieri at that time not played combat roles worthy of being placed in a context like that of a game.

  3. When you were conceived, the Bersaglieri were born as elite troops, like the tiragliatori,volteggiatori , Jager ecc. ,but later took on the role of troops "celeri", it is no coincidence that the various bersaglieri regiments were placed in so-called divisions Celeri.

  4. Quick search revealed many "action" and "field" photos from Africa to Afghanistan. Of course, very few action photos are actual combat. This however, does appear to be a combat photo:

    The previous picture was actually taken during the attack on the monastery hill in Greece.

    The piumetto was applied to the helmet, and was Gallo Cedrone though once there were two differences: the officers had the reflex blue, while the troops were green.

    Even for the Alpine applied ,and still applies, black pen.

    in the image below is my cappello when I was officer with black pen.

    Bersaglieri troops also were not elite, but they arise as light infantry and motorized infantry later.

    The fez was used very little in combat but was only supplied to the troops.

  5. I'm really curious to see 3D models of the Italian soldiers!

    From the first screen that appears above the ground is very well done and also the Italian veichle, although the 90/53 were very few!

    I believe that playing with the Italians would be very funny, especially because there were many divisions of infantry with a few really heavy armaments.

    I am really very happy that I'm Italian, you can play CM in this theater.

    I wait to see what they look like 3D models of the Italians.

    When an artillery shell bursts, it generates a huge amount of smoke, I was mountain artillery lieutenant and was shooting with the 105mm ,from what I remember, the 105 did a good show of smoke, therefore, time of dissipation of smoke and improved 3D models is not enough, in my opinion, textures put a "smoke "2d" and make it appear on the ground, is not sufficient.

    small arms are not those evil flames in front, but smoke .. it would take a bit more realism.

  7. I know that this topic is not important for most of you, but I was wondering one thing for developers: special effects.

    I was expecting something more honest, now I understand that this is not the most important point of the game, pointing to the realism, but are the same special effects that were in CMAK.

    I'm a fan of CM, and I think it's the best game of his class, but is not it time to update this aspect, which undoubtedly is not the most important, but that could extend the game a lot?

    There's so much crap posted on the Internet about our "french cowardness", you wouldn't believe it. That's the reason I do appreciate the Battlefront forums. When people are joking, it's usually in a good natured way - "bon enfant", as we say in french.

    I know that, hopefully, friendly and educated people get the bigger picture when it comes to my country.

    I served two years during the Bosnian war (1993-1995) with my fellow french soldiers under UN mandate and met great people from various foreign detachments. Those were awful times, I tell you.

    Today, I often think about the soldiers serving in Afghanistan (whether they're french or not). May they come home and to their families safe and sound.

    On a lighter note, if you have the opportunity, go visit our country, you won't regret it. So many different places to see, historically and geographically speaking (and you can go up north too....:)).

    And the people are actually a lot nicer than it seems.....:D:D:D

    I also have been an Italian army officer, Alpine infantry, and I personally met some French soldiers, exceptional.

    I've been many times in France, is a beautiful country.

  10. I personally like, in future, be able to play CMSF2, in a theater, for example, in the Middle East.

    Six Day War, Yom Kippur 1973, Lebanon 1982.

    I also once tried CMBN, but I do not like the bocage and are returned to Afghanistan and Shockforce.

    For me the important thing is that the next game is more directed towards a better "immersive", that is perhaps more attention to aspects of graphics and animations, which are not as important, but they contribute a lot to make the game more challenging.

    As for CMSF seems that will not be released new modules, patience ...

    I hope, as a Warrior, perhaps in the future will be issued a new patch that contains a list of vehicles, including Afghanistan, maybe.
