  1. As anybody ever made a list of all the Uniform BMP's for all the Nationalities & Time Frames in CMAK ???

I know it was done for CMBB so you knew exactly which BMP was for each part of the body for each Nationality & Time Frame, but I have not found one for CMAK yet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. ;)

  2. Redwolf:

I read several months ago that M$ porposely dropped DX9(-) with the DX10. Their reasoning was that the legacy support would slow down DX10 and they wanted to make a "clean start" with DX10.

Of course the sideline that M$ did not say is that it would "force" everybody to upgade too, but that has not worked because Vista and DX10 has not been the "best thing since sliced bread".

The real ironic thing is that there is a big back lash out there from people who do not want to "upgrade" to Vista and would rather go straight to the next M$ OS (if it is truely better than Vista) in 2010.

  3. Kingfish:

I was just getting ready to write to you and tell that I discovered the exact same thing.

Apparently I had never checked the last corner inside the Allied lines because it never occured to me that the game would stick them up there (and with Allied colored bases) so I would have to reposition them back inside the Axis lines.

At least the mystery is now solved and in the future I will look in ALL FOUR corners when I add any new units.

    Thanks again.

  4. Skellen:

Thanks, I'll give it a try.

Edited: Still no go. I changed the existing scenario date to May. 1941, picked several Allied tanks and several German tanks. When to the map screen and only the Allied tanks show up for placement, but not the German tanks !!!

On a new scenario created from scratch, there is no problem with either the Allied or Axis units showing up on the map. I only have problems with this one particular existing scenario (which is not saved in a Tournament mode either, because if it was, the Allied tanks would not show up).

    Anybody else with suggestions ???

  5. I am trying to modify a CMAK existing scenario and I have a problem.

I have no trouble getting some new Allied units show up on the map edit screen for me after I add them to the unit edit screen, but any new Axis units that I add to the existing scenario unit edit screen will not show up on the map edit screen !!!

Any body have any ideas what could be the problem as to why one side's new units will show up and not the other

  6. One of my recient Maximum PC magazines had a good article on how to improve your Vista operating system. The real kicker was the last page when they tell you that the best solution to "fix" Vista is to either (1) replace it with XP or (2) create a dual Vista/XP operating systems on the same PC.

From the sounds of it, it did not sound very hard to do. I suggest "googling" it and you should find some sites that will tell you how to dual boot it step by step.

  7. MikeyD:

I for one am very appreciative of all the mods you made. As a former plastic modeler, it is nice to see as much detail on your virtual models as in the real plastic models.

Sorry to hear that you have moved on from CMx1 due to a PC upgrade. This is exactly why I have keep all my old PC's (6 different generations), because I have found out that older games do not always play well on newer PC's and CMx1 is a prime example.

I found CMx1 plays best on my old AMD 3800+, XP SP2 with ATI X800 XT PE card (I use the ATI 7.12 drivers that enable fog). CMx1 FPS drop on either my newer or older PC's (it will not even play on my newest PC), so each PC has it's uses.

  8. I have a new PC with ATI Crossfire 3870s using ATI 7.12 drivers (fog enabled, yea) and it does the same thing.

On the other hand CMBO, CMBB and CMAK play okay on my second PC with an ATI 1900 XT using ATI 7.12 drivers. But, they really play GREAT on my older PC with the ATI X800 XT using the same ATI 7.12 drivers.

As a result, I can only conclude that it is a hardware issue since all the PCs are using the same ATI 7.12 drivers and all three game's FPS keep dropping, the newer the ATI card.
