  1. Hi all, A couple of days ago I just finished Rune's late war scenario Royal Opponent. If you want to play with some big cats then this is the battle for you! On the Axis side you get no less than 11 KT to play with and on the Allied side at least a dozen IS-2. I got a 'major victory' against the AI but as always I felt this was only because of his usual inept play. He did give me a nasty surprise at the end and with 4 KT lost or abandoned and 4 others immobilized I believe the AI definitely had the edge if the battle had have continued. Still those Kings sure are beasts and fun to play with!
  2. The scenario that I mentioned above is 65 fixed turns and is a on a huge map so yeah it will take some time to play through. Er about the PBEM match-up I have never played a human opponent before but I'm keen to give it a go. Could you PM me about what I need to do? I heavily mod my CM games as well so will that be a problem for compatibility?
  3. I bet your opponent was a tad bemused after discovering a stubborn, lone Mk IV caused all that carnage to his forces!
  4. Hi guys, This is taken from the briefing "Historically the Soviet tank crews in this action were poorly trained and had little, or no experience of tank combat. The AI does not handle this too well. If playing against the AI and you are looking for a tougher fight you can up the AI experience bonus accordingly." So in accordance with this I gave the Russian AI a +2 CEB. In my experience the AI can usually give a good fight with that bonus. But slysniper if that was a challenge then I'm up for it!
  5. Cuirassier it was a battle that took place during Kursk so 76.2mm models. [ November 04, 2007, 05:51 PM: Message edited by: MichaelWittman ]
  6. Hi Christian, That UI is by a guy called Tarkus. His awesome work is on the same site mate.
  7. You do make valid points Cuirassier but inspite of the 'poor' AI attacker I still managed to lose a Tiger on the escort back. Admittedly some t34s appeared behind the Tiger. Late war and the Tiger's invulnerability that you talk about is gone! Try the Seelow Heights campaign and you will see what I mean. Anyone else out there that is a Tiger fan? It seems I'm in the minority...
  8. dickes From www.cmmods.com of course! Just search for Tiger under the CMBB section. Baron No it wasn't like that cos I had to watch the Tiger's flanks at all times and all I can say is without the two Tigers it would be impossible to win this scenario. Even then getting the PG force back to the exit zone within the strict time limit is tough.
  9. If that post was meant for me Baron then yes I did but my main Tiger was situated at the top of the hill besides the objective flag and with thick fog (meant to simulate heavy smoke), they had a field day against the onrushing t34s. I was down to HE only by the end of the battle! My 75mm a/t guns had a good time as well. One of them got back to the exit point with 6 t34 kills - nice! Also in that scenario the Russians get random reinforcements so you never know what you are going to be up against. I saved most of the PG force but did lose one Tiger which pissed me off.
  10. Haha Pat looks like one of those pesky snipers got the commander of the Tiger, don't you just hate those units? So come on I thought there would be plenty more Tiger aces out there!
  11. Hi all, As you can probably guess from my username I love the mighty Tiger tank, and love to hand the Russians some major ass with them. My question is what is the most kills that you have scored with just one or two Tigers in a single scenario? My record so far was from the Peiper nahkampftag scenario with a total of 91 infantry casualties, 1 gun, 2 mortars, 25 t-34s and 4 t-70s. Quite a haul eh? Awesome scenario BTW highly recommended!
  12. Colonel, Thanks but I got in touch with NCrawler today via email and he is going to send me a link to d/l the CMAK mod as soon as is convenient. I'll let you know if I need your help with those files.
  13. Oh and one last thing before I go and test my new found MG42 sounds, does anyone have or know how to get a hold of Scipio and OHJumbies (sp?) sound mods. They both come highly recommended but neither appear to be on CMMODS. Off to the firing range!
  14. Hi Philippe, I think that click that you mentioned is caused by not correctly looping the audio track which is something NCrawler mentioned a while back. And I have solved the mystery of those five wav files of the MG42. They are indeed NCrawler's from his 1.6 sound mod on the CMHQ site. I think they are by far and away the best sound of an MG42 in full pelt and I highly recommend them. Note that they are for CMBO so there are only 5 files and 440-442 are for HMG whereas 445-446 are for LMG. Now I hope he responds to my email hehe.
  15. Hi Philippe, That 2nd YouTube link with the dude from Full Metal Jacket was awesome. Perhaps I could record the sounds from the gun firing in the clip. Is this even possible? What sound mod was it that had the click at the end of it? To be perfectly honest I mix and match my sounds cos I'm never happy with just one sound mod.
  16. Colonel, I've been there done that CMMODS is one of my my fave sites! MikeyD anyone? Alas in the CMAK section there are only the FatherOfNone sound mods by Oddball there. Hopefully NCrawler will read my post...
  17. Hi all Long time lurker, first time post! I'm still looking for the ultimate MG42 sound for CM. Does anyone know if NCrawler completed his sound mod for CMAK? I want to just about duck when I hear that familiar ripping sound. I liked some files that someone posted a while back but they only consisted of 5 files and not the full 12. Oh well I'll have to stick with BF original sounds for now. Also does anyone have a cool sound for the Tiger? I'm using the Panther one at the moment cos that sounds grunty.
