I seems that BOEEOB´s solution disabling one cpu (by using the taskbar and right-click on the cmsf process) makes everything better and so far no hangs. The dual-core-optimizer I have uninstalled cause it never worked anyway (program couldnt start).

I have the same problems as Steiner with almost identical hardware. I have installed the MS Hotfix and that solved the flickering graphics problem but not the hanging issue.
