  1. OK finally bought the game and installed the patch. I like the way this strategy game plays and it has real potential. It really is like a Combat mission... However, even with the patch it is sorely missing some basic options. 1.As far as I can tell, each mission always plays out the same with the AI enemy doing the same basic thing. You should have had the enemy try different routes and new tactics to make each mission a little more unpredictable. It gets very boring doing the same mission ad-infinitum until you succeed by simply remembering where everything will be. Not a good way to learn strategy. 2. Make the campaign a little more dynamic. Allow things to go back and forth into different missions or campaigns, depending on how you do. 3. The Mission generater that came with the Patch, while nice is actually a sadly missed opportunity. Why are there no RANDOM options? For me, there`s no point running the Generater if I know exactly what I am going to face. It blows the tactical element again. I want to wonder how I should best approach a target with the unpredictable element of whther I`m going to meet a Panzer III or a King tiger! Or bump into basic conscripts or the SS! I would also like a random option for friendly sides too. So we set choices that range from one type of unit to another type. Random map, weather, re-enforcements, air cover, LINKED random Missions to create a mini-campaign experience should all be part of the Generater. This would truly give the game life and longevity. Why haven`t you guys done this? Surely it was an obvious move? Set Missions become predictable and boring very quickly. The game is good with its graphics and animation and the elements of fighting, but i`m very dissappointed with the options. All TOW has done is wet my appetite to go back to Combat mission 1,2 and 3 because that has a vast array of options. I hope the Devs will take my advice on board and include more of a dynamic campaign, but especially employiong RANDOM choices for the Mission generater.
  2. Please incorporate a dynamic campaign and add random options to the generater. this will make TOW an excellent game. At the moment, it becomes repetitive when you have to complete a mission over and over or if you already know what you`re going to face.
  3. Well, just bought the game now the Patch is out. Congrats.
  4. Sounds like you`re asking for a dynamic campaign. I don`t have the game yet, but I have the feeling it`s not like that. I rememeber it was the same with IL2, nothing you did really affected the war until a separate utility called lowengrin`s Dynamic campaign generater came out. It was a simple programme, but it opened up the IL2 campaign making each mission a joy. It sounds like TOW needs something like this, or perhaps the old Combat Mission series style of dynamic battles.
  5. You guys do have a point. What`s to prevent more hassle with future Kalypso stuff? Will we have to go on a thread tirade again for 2 months before something happens? Like getting an Add-on to work? hmmm...
  6. lol, me too! But sometimes a customer needs to take such action to get a result from companies. Nice to see they finally acted. Now I will go to the local store and see about buying it.
  7. Well, this is potentially good news, but i am reminded of other game devs who`ve kept people waiting on Patches with cosy words of `released soon` and `two weeks` (yes, i am an IL2 fan as well) and it sometimes feel as if we`re being led along by the non-existent carrot. Of course, they have our money now, so they can take their sweet time or maybe not even bother. Oh, wait! I managed to cancel my copy, so they haven`t got my money and won`t get it until I see a result! I wait.
  8. Not having much luck. tried ordering a battlefront version, but paypal kept messing me around, even though there was enough cash in pounds (£50) the $60 dollars never seemed to translate to the £32 and a bit it should have been. BTW, $20 (£10) is steep for postage. I know it`s all about the Pound vs the Dollar, but should the customer suffer for it? Total balls up. i`m also in the process of cancelling the kalypso version. Still if the Patch comes out for it soon, i`ll consider re-purchasing it.
  9. Well, looks promising. I liked CM a lot and I liked the demo, so i guess i`ll make the order from BF after all. Pity about the patch mess with Kalypso.
  10. Nice graphics. I`ve seen far too many games with nice graphics, but then go on to dissappoint me to get excited at this stage. If it really is an RTS I won`t be buying it as RTs` are anything but realistic. I can`t stand the churning out of a box reflex action use of your troops since they feel more like robots than Human. However, if it allows realistic tactics and strategy then great. Pass me the demo and I`ll have a look.
  11. I`m attempting to cancel the kalypso version. I looked on their website and the blowing tumble weed and lack of response to those who`ve asked for a patch is not good to see. If I can be bothered I may order the battlefront version, but my initial excitement of this game is wearing down very, very fast due to this state of affairs. Why should the customer have any confidence in the product if the aftersales service is shoddy? BattleFront! Get reliable people who produce patches and communicate with their buyers - it makes YOU look bad and puts down our confidence in your abilities.
  12. Just Great! I decided to order this from ebay, due to its cheap price and now I discover that the patch doesn`t work with certain versions?! and I ordered too because of the new Uber patch. Ran to the store and found that their version is Kalypso as well. So i guess I`m going to have to order from battleFront. no point sticking with Kalypso as I can see this issue continuing with other downloads, installs, addons. Maybe I can get a refund or cancel the Kalypso version. Why do they do this? What a pain.
