  1. These arguments sounds like, FUD to me. In short: ID provides Linux games e.g. Doom I, II, III Quake I, II, III, IV Return to castle Wolfenstein Enemy Territory Enemy Territory: Quake Wars Atari provides Linux games e.g. Unreal Tournament, Unreal Tournament 2003, Unreal Tournament 2004 Neverwinter Nights Other Recent Linux Games: Penumbra Tribal Trouble etc etc. Most of them use a (bash) script to install these games which can be easily installed on every distribution. In short it can be done if developers use OpenGL instead of Microsoft DirectX. [ August 20, 2007, 01:10 AM: Message edited by: Aniruddha ]
  2. I have added a Test Result to the Win Apdb. I hope it will be added soon! Update: I have filed a bugreport here: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9378 [ August 19, 2007, 01:31 PM: Message edited by: Aniruddha ]
  3. I just downloaded the Demo but I get the same stupid message about my display not being set 1024x768
  4. I've never seen these problems with Dropteam. Which distro are you running?
  5. I find it really disappointing to see the current state of (war)games. I bought Armed Assault which was (and is) no where close towards being finished. Now I see these awful reviews for CMSF and reading the comments these are correct. This short term thinking is hurting the developers and the Combat Mission franchise. I wonder why battlefront has allowed these all these crappy titles to be published in the first place. [ August 12, 2007, 10:46 AM: Message edited by: Aniruddha ]
  6. Time to vote for CM in the and place some testreviews and bugreports .
  7. Does your xorgs screen section look something like this? </font><blockquote>code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;">Section "Screen" Identifier "Screen0" Device "Card0" Monitor "Monitor0" SubSection "Display" Viewport 0 0 Depth 1 Modes "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480" EndSubSection SubSection "Display" Viewport 0 0 Depth 4 Modes "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480" EndSubSection SubSection "Display" Viewport 0 0 Depth 8 Modes "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480" EndSubSection SubSection "Display" Viewport 0 0 Depth 16 Modes "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480" EndSubSection SubSection "Display" Viewport 0 0 Depth 24 Modes "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480" EndSubSection EndSection</pre>
  8. Please file a bugreport in wine bugzilla and the results of your testing in the appdb. Otherwise the devs don't know there is a bug to squash
  9. :)Ok np, btw, how can I determine who is human and who is A.I.?
  10. Sorry to be such a nuisance but is this real single player experience? Or more something you get to supplement the multiplayer features? Such as the single player modes in Battlefield 2, Joint Operations, Star Wars Battlefront etc.
  11. Thanks for the additional info. I wonder though if dropteam has a full fledged offline campaign (with a storyline, interconnected missions etc.) or is the offline mode the same as an online game but then with bots? (just like in the demo level)
  12. Ok that sounds interesting , how many people are there on Sunday? How many servers? [ June 02, 2007, 04:36 AM: Message edited by: Aniruddha ]
  13. Ouch, that means there is no chance to play it online? What about the single player mode? I is this multiplayer with bots? Just like in the demo?
  14. Thanks for explaining! Will this also be the case for the latest CM?
  15. Here you can find information if a game runs or what it takes to get it running: http://appdb.winehq.org/ What I really don't understand is that all Combat Missions are also released for MacOSX. That is the same platform as Linux. That means it would only take a small effort to make it run in Linux right?
  16. I was shocked to find out that the three empty servers were not only intended for the demo version. How many servers are there for dropteam? How many players on average can one expect at any given time? [ June 01, 2007, 12:46 AM: Message edited by: Aniruddha ]
  17. Hey thank you very much! The 1st person 'hack' works perfect Tomorrow I'll try deleting these wav files.
  18. That sounds like a good workaround . How should I proceed?
  19. Great to hear its uses OpenGL and no DirectX! Well if a MacOSX port planned it shouldn't be too much of an effort to run it in Linux?
  20. Or is there maybe a workaround of some kind? I really like this game!
