With reference to some of the graphics issues being referred to in the forum I have seen members posting the frame rates that they are obtaining while playing the game.
I am a relative novice with PCs - so could someone please tell me how they are able to work-out the frame rates their PC is able to operate under while playing CM:SF?
Thanks

" ... So far our suspect is the 7xxx/8xxx family of cards with a dual processor (either AMD or Intel) and, I think, a 32bit OS (any of you using Vista 64 with problems?). This is probably something we can work around once we get a card to play with. But we want to try to figure out if this a red herring or a real link.
Keep the information coming! We might not be able to snap our fingers and fix this, but with your help we will be able to do it a lot quicker than if we just start guessing!"

Sorry guys it is not that easy I am afraid. The issues are definitely not limited to 7xxx and 8xxx family cards. See my system specs below.
AMD 64 x2 3800+
2.048 Gig RAM
nVidia Geforce 6600 256mb
Wnidows XP Home
The game only produces a half-reasonable performance on FAST settings for both models and textures. However, my main issue is that the game freezes or lock-ups which requires "end task" in the Task Manager.
Before you ask, I have used task manager "set affinity" to ensure that only 1 CPU is engaged (Not effective in relation to the "freezes"). I have also applied all of the "fixes" and patches referred to in the forum at some stage (not effective in relation to the "freezes") but I have deleted the AMD Dual Core Optimizer program after other users claimed "fixes" in relation to their problems. - Still no success.
The key issue here is that you should not assume that the 6xxx family of nVidia cards is somehow going to be the answer - It is NOT - that is a blind alley
Hope that this helps you with your analysis of the issues.

I am also experiencing the hang or lock-up problems. Only solution is to "end task".
I can live with the overall graphics - 3D model quality - and 3D textures set at FAST: I do not experience instability.
However, I have never been able to go for more than 7 minutes before the game hangs (locks-up).
I also have experienced a tank disappear in its dust and literally reappear at the far corner of the map (I presume the so-called teleporting problem).
My specs are:
AMD Athlon 64 x 2 3800+ (2.0 Ghz)
NVidia 6600 256Mb DDR
2.048 Gigs RAM - DDR
Windows XP Home
I have loaded the fixes and patches referred to on this website without any luck so far.
Hope you can help

Could someone at Battlefront please confirm the actual size of the download that will be available on Friday 27th?
Sorry if it has already been published, but, I have searched the forums and cannot find that particular detail.
Thanks for your assistance.
Any information on next patch

Thanks for the feedback on patch 1.03. You have said that patch 1.03 is going to be " ...the end of all major outstanding issues ...", however, missing from your summary of the 1.03 fixes (copy quoted below) was any references to a fix for the nVidia 8800 issues. This is a MAJOR issue for a significant number of purchasers including me. Could you please give me some comfort that 1.03 is going to address the nVidia 8800 card issues?
