And pretty soon, thanks to Blucher, there will be a French version (with all the swearing parts !) available !
-
Hey all !
The French translation for the second initiation campaign "Task Force Raff" is available on the website www.appui-feu.com
We hope that this will help the French speaking community understand the game mechanism and join us in more multi-player fighting !
Have a good one !
-
In case you guys didn't notice, there is a mission editor in the game, so instead of "requesting" things, why don't you get the job done yourselves ?
-
Well, they actually have a dismount order, but no "mount" order, it's silly, but may be corrected in a future patch
-
It is specified in the manual that gun crews can't take the gun back if they bail out.

De rien ;-)

Charles sent me those figures when we needed data for our CM:SF ladder :
A = points for the side who had more points
B = points for the side who had fewer points
then
V = (A + 10) / (B + 10)
and
V < 1.25 Draw
V < 1.75 Minor Victory
V < 2.5 Tactical Victory
V < 4.0 Major Victory
V >= 4.0 Total Victory
I asked about the ratios in CM:BN but never had an answer so I figure this is the same.
-
I just found how to upload it on the repositiry, I didn't see the icon before :-)
-
Here is my first scenario for CMBN, Fireworks.
Small size, US player vs IA.
June 6, 1944, your mission : blow up a bridge before dawn.
You MUST destroy the bridge in order to avoid a Panzer tide !
command USS Texas' big guns and exfiltrate.
Be quiet, the Germans are close.
DL link (I don't know how to put a file on the repository...) :
Don't hesitate to fill me in (mail or MP) for further improvement.
Enjoy.

I 've been thinking about this one since I 've had the beta ^^
-
Nice thread, thanks a lot !
-
Once again : www.appui-feu.com ^^
No mandatory participation, you come, you take the inscription and once valid, you post one thread in "newcomers" and one in "searching for opponent", here you go...

It's done, I'm waiting for an answer before starting.
-
That's too bad, I wanted to translate all the briefings and notes from Devils' descent...
-
There are not much cobbled roads in Normandy, it is simply not "cultural" and would hardly be used to build squares, but hey, tihs is just a game, and seing cobbled roads puzzles me less than seing "gender" mistakes made to almos every mission where French location names are created.
Example : La moustache (feminine) becoming LE moustache (wroooong).
THIS is really annoying, particularly in the final release, so please, if you have a doubt, mail me !

Hey guys.
I'm glad you liked those two videos.
To set things right, I made them after a few members of www.appui-feu.com asked me about airstrikes and biiiiig guns ^^
I simply selected a QB map, more or less randomly, then gaught an AO, firepower and here we go...
In both case the fire order has been geven during the deplyment phase, so I wouldn't wait for ages to get my fireworks blowing up (it takes about 20 minutes to shot biggest naval arty).
For the naval artillery id, I set an "in line" order randomly over the village.
For the air strike I was surprised that there were no way of setting an "in line" fire order, otherwise I would have set the road as the main target, not 3 randomly places points for my 3 P-47s (as you can see, when I issued fire orders, my boys couldn't see the germans, otherwise I would have targeted "soft" targets).
But as I always say, bear in mind that this is a beta version, a very good one, but the game will be much better.
Thanks. (and by the way, we can thank the QB maps creators, most of the maps are awesome)
-
I just finished "last defense", got wiped by the german player, my GIs kept withdrawing at the first shot, weird...
-
Better have a nice tuned game than a beta version (even if the beta is good, not like the last IL2 game ^^)
-
If you want to meet nice opponents, www.appui-feu.com, mostly French speaking but some of our members speak English.
-
I remodeled my mission to include an AO, and I must say that blowing bridges is a funny sport !
If some of the beta testers want to try it for fun (and help me improve it), send me a PM.
-
I recognize the map... One of my maps... Last defense (CMBO Original recreated for CMBN ). So I checked it out. The water tile was apparently lost when the original bridge was removed and the destroyed bridge was placed.
ooops, unmasked ^^
This is a really nice map btw.
I removed the water tile on purpose because this is a small stream so I figured that a blown up bridge would clog it with debris. But you're right, at this point and with everybody waiting for the game, it may not be a good idea to post more screenshots as they would certainly lead to more questions and funny statements :-)
My apologies.

Well, Mark, This is not one of my "creations", I just picked a random mission and opened it with the editor and then replaced the brand new bridge by a destroyed one.
And for those complaining about the width of the river, just try to imagine that the creator may wanted to represent a little stream, but you'll be free to create a 50 tile-wide Amazon-like river if you want to.
And FYI, I've been playing CM for 10 years, including CMSF, so I am not so "newbee" as you could believe (but thanks for your support Mark).
Michael, I can't wait to play your future creations though, as they will be flawless it's gonna be a real pleasure, yummy !
:-p
