  1. Hi all, DVD arrived Manchester England morning of the 31st May bring on all the updates and add ons
  2. Defensive Tactics: by putting my two guns vitually behind two trees on the right I managed to keep one of them alive long enough to fire 24 rounds.out of it`s 30 quota. The placement was probable pure luck but the the fact that all the tanks survived makes this impossible.
  3. Just downloaded demo. Still waiting for the real thing. Went straight into the main game, I always try something out before I read the manual. I found the controls quite easy to get into, at least the basics. Move, fire, stop & start. The camera is also quite easy although I found I would have preferred to reverse the centre wheel. Pushing forward naturally feels as though it should go down. With a little practise and a look at the manual tomorrow I should be able to get the finer pionts down. The graphics that have had some negative comments I found superior to other strategy games and certainly good enough to get into the mood of the game. Please remember the strategy comes first and if you want the best graphics going and the strategy to be complicated enough you would need some kind of super computer out of most of our price range. The infantry in buildings has to be fixed at a later date but I`m afraid I can`t comment on the sound as the wife was watching telly when the download finished and I couldn`t wait to find my headphones. I must add that I won the scenario even though I didn`t notice some of my tanks and infantry in a truck until some had already been destroyed. I only really took control of the tanks because I was not familiar with the game and simple wanted to do one thing at a time. There is obviously a learning curve and I will need to become used to all the finer pionts not to mention actually reading the manual tomorrow. Finally , I am not sorry I paid up front for the full game and I would much rather wait until it is right than to recieve it a couple of days earlier. worthy
  4. GunzAbeam: your not wrong about the neighbours, crawling around measuring shot ranges with a piece of string with knots in it and using a 6in thick rules manual to decide damage done. Yep probable looked very strange. We were so happy when the speccy came along because we knew one day we would be playig TOW. After over 30 years together you are right my wife is a very special lady. all the best worthy
  5. Hi all, 60 and I`ve been interested in wargames for years. I have been known, in the distant past, to have dozens of plastic model tanks in the garden. I also used to enjoy table top gaming. Then home computers came along and they are ideal for realistic wargaming. So far the Combat Mission series have been my No1 but I`m hoping TOW will move to the top of my list.
