  1. Hi! When CM:SF first came out my enthusias was curbed by a few negative reviews speaking of a very bad AI. Since I am almost forced to play singleplayer (I've tried PBEM, but my work does not allow me to play continously so I prefer to be able to play whenever I want) AI is always a very important factor when I choose a game. I've come back to this forum to ask what you think of the game after a few patches? Has it improved generally? How's the AI? Thanks,

  2. Hi! When I play ToW the video signal disappears and after a few seconds the whole system reboots.

    I have an AMD 3200+, 2gb RAM, 8600Gts 512mb (163.71 drivers), and a Corsair 520W PSU.

I've tested the system with memtest86, unigine, burnintest and 3dmark06. The temperatures are low and no error were found. Can you help me?

  3. Hi! I'm getting a little bit frustraded with the Dunkirk map (German campaign). Can someone give some tips to destroy the AT guns without losing all my tanks?

BTW, I really hope BFC will change the LOS values. A tank of mine was destroyed by an AT gun shooting from 1.000 m through tree rows of trees... (I checked with 1st person view, my tank was not exposed).

Anyhow, taking a trench solely with infantry can be a costly business. Just as you would expect in RL, why do you think people keep digging them?

Of course, but in RL I would use a smoke screen (in all honesty I don't know how much smoke screens were used in WW2) or a base of fire to protect the advance. My experience with ToW is still very very limited (2 battles) so I was just asking how you use the in game tools, so to say. What I didn't realize was (but please confirm) that you can in fact implement a base using the area fire option.

  5. Well, as an old CC player (how many are we on this forum?) I miss the ambush feature. The enemy tanks spots my AT guns immediately. Id like to have more options for the infantry as well. I played the first battle in the German campaign and I had problems using my infantry against the enemy trenches. In CC the normal approach would have been to launch a smoke granade and assault with various squads. Without smoke this tactic is a suicide. How do you behave? Do you simply avoid contact with entrenched infantry? Do you assault from various directions (didn't work in my case)? I tried to soften the resistance with artillery but that didn't work either. By the way I'd like the possibility to be notified when my soldiers kills someone (as it is, if I've not missed something, you get a message only when a unit of yours gets killed).

P.S. I've downloaded the game but I've still to recieve the e-mail from BFC... :)

  6. The game is a beauty. I love to see the mighty panthers and tigers roaring on the field. I like both graphics and sound (I'm a minority, I know). The game is very challenging (I'm still not even near the victory). On my mid-range comp (AMD Athlon 64 +3200, 1 gb RAM and GF6600) the game is fluid with all settings on normal. I had a little lag (but very acceptable) when rinforcements arrive in the Last Stand. I crashed to desktop once (I've played two battles so far) and I hope it won't happen to many times.

That said, I miss some features: smoke screens (I know, we've talked about that already) and the possibility to tell the vehicles to follow the roads. In real life I belive tanks would try to avoid to jump on every single tree...

game runs perfect in all the training missions but when i get to teh scenario and all the reinforcements come in it gets unplaybale, even on lowest settings its like watching a very slow slideshow.

Ouch! To be clear: what kind of athlon do you have? +3000? +3200?

That's perfectly ok. I'm more concerned (I have still to download the demo) about how the enemy AI manages the pathfinding. Is the AI able to set the waypoints in short intervals so that the tanks follow the road?

10$ cheaper NOT you still have to pay 11$ shipping. so pls think twice. If i can get it in a shop it will cost me less and yes i have to wait a few days more.

But when i pre order i pay more so i want to see the game at least earlier. And even more if they say that one of the advantages of an pre order.

And if you like to play it in the weekend so do so but many people who pre orderd it would like to play before.

    just my 1$

You should READ twice, both the BFC page and my message. But to save time you could simply read what moon just wrote.

I understand you'd like to play the game before but stop whining, please! It's like when you take a little kid to a store and he cries until you buy him candies (at lunch time, of course!). Matt stated there was some problem delaying the pre-release. In the real world things like this happen and it would be a paradise if they only happend with games. Be patient and do something else for a few hours, Santa Claus will soon be here.

Technically if people who preordered, starts downloading one hour before the release, it's still a "pre-download" and there's nothing wrong with it because you still get it early. But from the eyes of the customers, this is "cheating".

    Just my 2 cents.

I think the majority of customers realized in due time that "early" in the gaming branch often means "a few hours". I'm sorry for those who feel cheated but consider two things: 1) it's a game, not the miracle drug that will save you from ageing and death 2) it's a working day so most of us won't be able to play it anyway. All of you will certainly find a way to spend a few hours untill we get the game (going out with the girlfriend, playing other games, reading, sleeping, working, arguing on the forum...). As far as I know most people here is over 30 years old, so don't behave like kids crying about an ice cream.

  11. I've read a lot of angry messages yesterday and I really don't understand why. Stop whining about the pre-release. You will all get this game soon enough. I pre-ordered ToW with the 10$ in mind, considering the pre-release only a small additional benefit. Small because every player with some experience know very well that the common policy with pre-orders is not to pre-release the game at all, and in the few cases this happens the game is pre-released with only a few hours "lead". With the pre-order you have the chance to get the DL and boxed version (with printed manual!) saving money (In practise I saved expedition costs entirely), so I don't understand your great animosity towards BFC. Cool down and relax. By the way, it's Wednesday so I have to work during day time and sleep at night. I can fill my few free hours with my other wargames. I'll be glad to try ToW during the weekend.

    Bye,

No, it was not. In fact I pre-ordered to save 10$. The 24 hours lead makes it only better.

put that little point on your head.

Wow. You are really a wise man. I'm impressed. You are able both to fix the release date and the price of the game. Cool. Are you able to design it too? I don't know why I'm losing my time with Battlefront when there are such stars as you on the forum.
