I seem to recall the guy in the photo died about a month later, as well. :(

Yes, best to get the most mileage out of this current engine before they decide that it needs cavalry charges and massed line formations.
  3. I seem to recall it being mentioned that they are using Securom protection which would indicate that you need a CD in the drive.

Keep in mind that this is not developed by Paradox but simply published, whereas the EU, HOI series and others were developed and published by them.

I think Take Command: 2nd Manassas, another game published by them, had copy protection.

I wonder what it is about that game that makes it different to CM:SF in that sense.

Millions of dollars and a considerably larger production team might be a factor. And in regards to file size, fewer units, fewer calculations, a shorter game time (on average) etc.

Probably just a delay on Play.com's part, getting the games in and then shipping them.
  6. Honestly, if it turns out that a bunch of people who do not visit these forums got the game, I don't really care about an early release. It's 9 days, which they need to be able to get the patch ready.

It won't be so good to get it early and have issues that will only be fixed near the real release date when the patch is ready.

...Oh what am I saying. If 2 people have the game before I do, there will be hell to pay!

I reckon 1 percent but id love to know everyone elses thoughts.

Could be 100 plus copies gone out, and bear in mind they would have come direct from Paradox

Or even use these forums, I guess. While we all know that we're the centre of Battlefront's universe, I do hope they are getting preorders from outside of here.

Easier for Battlefront if it's out of sight and (not quite) out of mind. Paradox must be able to figure out how many copies were shipped..

Didn't somebody here say they were starting to do runs of CD's already? Which would mean they have been at a gold status for a few days.

Imagine what that will be like if you see it in the WW2 release :D
  10. Is it just me or does this say that the Syrians are getting some artillery?

They are able to purchase a Forward Observer Section, as well as having an Artillery tab on the bottom left.

Also, what is the something something Battery listed at the end of the Syrian units? Can't make that out.

But anyway I had thought it was said they were not receiving any off map support and suchlike. I suppose it could just be some mortars, not sure what the word on those was.
