Likely just an illusion created by the perspective, and rather difficult to gauge with any accuracy from those screenshots.

If you consider a short four paragraphs of text a review, then the latest one comes from Inside Hotwire 3D.

I can certainly appreciate that.Originally posted by gibsonm:I'm after the "OS X native version".
Though if you have a newer Intel based Mac and can spare the real estate for a WinXP partition, Boot Camp works quite nicely.

Good things come to those who wait. :cool:Originally posted by Moon:I just saw a first glimpse of the patched items list and it's very impressive.

I'm going to be on holiday on the 27th. Any chance you could push the date back a month?
That almost made spay a mouthful of coffee all over my keyboard!

Just a caveat for those entertaining this: doing so will void your warranty. Whether or not this is a consideration is a matter of personal opinion--just wanted to put it out there.Originally posted by G.Mooyman:remove the stock fan/cooler from the card and replace it with a big one like a Zahlman or something.
While I've replaced stock fans on older video cards in the past, I've found the cooling solution on this card adequate for a mid-range graphics card (I'm not OC'ing it). That's not to suggest it couldn't be improved, just that it works well in my application. It is known that the stock fan is underpowered and will not cool enough. -
Boot Camp or Parallels.Originally posted by gibsonm:And the Mac version?

With a little patience and persistence, I managed to peel it off OK.

Not sure whether or not there are plans for one, though currently there is no random scenario generator.

The last update states the team is aiming for an end of month release for the patch.Originally posted by woodenspoke:So when is this fix coming out.

Not to intentionally derail this thread, so if the mods and the OP can indulge me just this time.Originally posted by chanss:How good is Battleground on a scale off 1 to 10 would you say?
chanss, I may be wrong guy to ask about the game as I'm afraid I may be looking at it through rose-colored glasses. I thoroughly enjoy it and would rank it a 9. There's a brief, albeit fair review of Battlefront on ACG, that you may wish to read. If you do end up getting it and are up for a PBEM skirmish, let me know.
Back on topic:
Although Mr. Cobb made some fair points, I was definitely a little surprised by some statements within his review.
Again, thanks for your indulgence.

I am, yes.Originally posted by Txema:Is anybody running TOW with a ATI X1950 graphic card satisfactorily?? Which CPU and operative system are you using?
I have everything maxed and it runs quite well on this low-end PC. I'm in the process of building a whole new system, though I can't see the performance improving drastically, as it's very smooth on this tired, low-end horse: AMD 64 3500+, 2GB DDR, 512MB version of an X1950 Pro, A8V Deluxe, X-Fi and WinXP Pro (SP2).

A better question may be whether CM:SF is a true multithreaded application. A program can be only single-threaded, yet still support multi-core processors.Originally posted by Steiner14:Does CMSF support multi-core CPUs?

SSG's latest offering, Battlefront, is indeed an incredible wargame. Kudos to you for harnessing the willpower to stay away from it.Originally posted by chanss:...they publish SSGs excellent games.

Do a quick search on this training mission, and you'll see many posts about this mission being bugged. One of the beta testers mentioned that apparently it wasn't supposed to ship this way, and suggested to simply bypass it altogether for now.

Appreciate the heads-up to the preview, thanks.

Hey don't fret, I'm convinced the customs officers are enjoying my copy. Buggers.

It's due to your current system specs. Unfortunately your system doesn't meet the minimum system requirements, let alone the recommended specs. Specifically, you should have a minimum of 1GB of memory.Originally posted by RKFM:what is with the long loading times? Is this just because it's the demo?
When playing the demo, I never experienced loading times longer than roughly 15 seconds.
The system specs, minimum and recommended, are available here.

Thanks for the link. I often head straight to the forums and miss their front page news and updates.

Absolutely.Originally posted by Freeboy:This is a good game that will only get better
I'm looking forward to the new patch. No doubt the team is working diligently behind the scenes.

Unfortunately, infantry can't enter buildings--rubbled or otherwise. Perhaps during an earlier development cycle the designers had this feature on the drawing board.Originally posted by FinnN:a while ago (before the game was released) I remember reading that infantry can enter rubbled buildings. Is that true?

"If you're looking to graduate from some of the more simplistic WWII RTS games out there, give Theatre of War a shot. It's definitely weightier than the usual RTS game set during the last good war yet still easy to learn and accessible for casual grognards."

There's no resupply option for tanks. Insofar as artillery accuracy is concerned, you select the general area for the strike, and that's where the barrage is concentrated.
The game gets better and better.
